Your explanation of the essence of “dupe the vibes” really speaks to me because I’ve found that so many eyeshadows within broad color and texture families ultimately look the same at a simple conversational distance! Most folks eyeshadow isn’t inspected at Instagram closeup levels, and even if you do a big smokey eye like the green one here, often it’s for a night out in low light and subtle shade differences in the pan make zero difference on the eye! How many of us can create a look we like from within our collections already?? That’s the fun challenge in and of itself 😊

I duped the vibes of the Sorcery palette this morning with the Charlotte Tilbury Icon palette with a Huda shimmer from the Rose Quartz palette. I am completely pleased with the look and realized that the CT and Huda palettes slap. Sorcery is sold out, but I’m not getting it or any other palette. Lisa’s awesome, I just don’t need anymore and duping the vibes helps me realize that.

I love that you do basically all shimmer looks or make mattes shiny with clear based shimmers because I'm a shimmer lover. I used to only use shimmers seriously lol then I thought that I just didn't know shit about makeup because I prefer all shimmer looks to all matte looks and even though I have textured, aging lids I still love shimmery looks so much. I feel like mattes make my textured lids just look dry and crusty and crepe instead of smooth so shimmers give them a wet, hydrated look but enhance texture but I prefer it lol.

My favorite black pigment wise is the one in the kaleidos Astral pink palette but it has glitters in it so I don't always use it when I need a black but boy they have great blacks. Pigmented but still bendable without turning almost brown or sheer gray.

Hello Hanah, I love the approach you took following Lisa’s reveal video! It is actually this exact video and the same excitement I felt about all the colors and textures and combinations that has led me to the path of : take what you already own, depot them all to gather in a unique palette, and then play around with the similar shades as Lisa’s palettes! I was a little nervous buying the Sorcery palette myself exactly for the same reasons you stated. But after receiving it & playing with it for a few days (and watching Kackie's review which was very helpful), I think Lisa Eldredge is a GENIUS!!! The subtleties you can achieve with these formulas is AMAZE-BALLS!!! I did go back to the website and purchase Vintage Mulberry, a plum brown matte, in a single and I'll replace the metallic blue with that. I think that'll give me many more looks and options and make this palette much more versatile for me.

Love getting this video given how much time I spent dealing with my heart eyes emoji feelings about her pallets, and duping the vibes myself, especially the sorcery palette. I didn’t get it because I was able to dupe the greens from the green elf bite sized palette (!)of all things (2.99 ), which has really nice formulas that last all day with primer. That was such a great trade off I was able to resist😅

as much as i love Lisa and her makeup, these palettes are so uninspiring to me. they're beautiful, and the concept is amazing, they just aren't for me whatsoever. also, i think you'd like a marbled shadow Nightmare from GlamShop (i know i've been shilling these shadows to you for a while, but i'm polish and the brand is polish and i'm just so proud of how far they've come, and the quality is just gorgeous). It's a very interesting shade and every time i see it i think of you :D

Stop. All. The. Clocks. This is the video I've been waiting for. Madrigal connected with me on a level I did not expect. I think it was the name of the shadow. When I was a child my mom made costumes for local theater and she made all the hats for a madrigal dinner and I was enlisted to help glue fake silk and pearls onto foam and it was so shiny and beautiful and probably the source for so much of my inner creative fire. I probably have two or three shades similar in my collection but she made me want HER version.

These pallets were pulling me in ... but what I like about them I have in my ND collection. I invested in many a ND pallet, inc the minis, the past 12 months so I’m happy I don’t need to spend money to achieve the “vibes”. Since I’ve invested in ND, a long with my colour pop which I’ve deconstructed to singles, I haven’t bought another eyeshadow! I now make my own colour stories and “dupe the vibes” as I really don’t need more stuff ❤️

At first, I didn't wanted to get the Sorcery palette, because it only had two colors of green I was interested in. Yet, seeing other video tutorials on this palette some how convinced me to getting the palette and... Yup, sold out. I honestly don't own any colors like this, since for many years I was kind of minimalist on using the same taupe shades. But now, I am willing to try at least a few shades out of my comfort zone.

I think the most useful thing youve said lately to help me talk myself out of getting overhyped about launches is if I see something I love, that sparks that need to own it, I likely already own something very similar. It's helped me to reassess a bit. I did recently order a 6 pan Tarte palette and a palette from Nabla purely out of curiosity about the formula. I'm looking forward to their arrival. At least I accepted that I want to makeup taste when I placed the order. I'm okay with the fact that I do want to do that. I don't need to it ALL the time though.

I had no intention of buying a palette before the launch video, but Lisa got me so excited about these palettes with the way she described and used them. The consummate sales person! Sorcery is the one that reached into my chest and and plucked at my heartstrings, even while my rational brain knew I would buy and use no such thing. I'm not going to buy a palette unless/until they are fully customisable at a reasonable price point. I feel the same way as you about the warmer coppery tones of Cinnabar being too warm, and Vega is closer to what I would want but I don't love the greyness. I love the look of Madrigal and Mercurial, and might buy the latter as a single to keep me going until I can compose my ideal palette. I'm curious about which (if any) lipstick you chose. I tried on Enchantment and Sorcery in the pop up. Enchantment turned undeniably pink on my cool-toned lips against my fair olive undertoned skin. Sorcery is so close to being my ideal colour, but worn in anything other than a light stain is just too dark and vampy (the case for a lot of LE lip colours that I otherwise love).

Yes, I immediately thought this look was very 20's and 70's inspired, and "Biba girl" is exactly that. That style really suits you! You have a wide range of high performing eyeshadows in your collection of which disco dreams are made, including drugstore options, so I'm always curious to hear your in depth eyeshadow reviews. You've extensively played around with enough high end and low end formulas. I trust you to compare the review item to other formulas and colors, but to also acknowledge who the intended consumer actually is, and when it's not really fair to even make those comparisons. I'm not in the market for more eyeshadow, but appreciate the thought process behind your reviews and find they help me critically think about my other purchasing decisions. It's difficult to make logical decisions when so many purchases aren't based on logic. So, thank you, and I look forward to your in depth review on these palettes!

I've just realised that I expected you to like Sorcery because to my eyes that was the "chartreuse palette". This is a great example of what happens when I fall in love with a palette because of one/two colours or even just because of the colour combination/contrasts in pan positioning, even though most shades are not up my alley or do not work on me

I needed this video. I got SO EXCITED when the palettes were released, but it's been a week one and I haven't made up my mind about which one to buy, meaning that none of them really had shadows that I'd use. For example, Muse has 2 beautiful coppery shades, but I wouldn't use the other 4. But she's so good at creating looks with them. And she's so passionate! Definitely pausing and giving it some days has made me realise that I don't need a palette. Or at least, not until she launches customised palettes.

Just love it when you do these. Ever since you started the DTV series, I have not purchased even one eye shadow palette; your lesson that "we already have these colors" stuck with me so ~ you're right, even though they are not exactly the same, once on the face there's not significant difference. I do love and adore Lisa and her products but ~ gonna have to sit this one out! Shiny sparkles and shimmers don't flatter older people and it irks me that I'd have to buy a palette, then pop half of them out and then spend additional $$ to buy the other mattes that I could actually use. I just love the darker eyeshadow look on you, it looks super ~ like the Gucci look you did ~ so thank you for this, even though I think it's a miss for the older audience this time! Hopefully she'll either do all matte palette in future or at least sell the compact separately so we can buy the shades we'll actually use! Nice vid.

I immediately caved and bought the Muse palette haha - it's absolutely beautiful and matches my softer preferences but I wouldn't say it's the kind of out-of-this-world intensity a lot of people go for. One thing I have noticed playing with the palette is that, even though it's warm, the colours actually pull pinkish on my skin (and not really orange) which I've never actually had success with being pale and cool-toned!!

😂😂 I’m cracking up where you’re like oh Lisa applies it the way you do with the lid color/ stunner color first then blends. I’m pretty sure most make up artist do it that way I mean I don’t just because for me it would be harder that way, but I know Natasha Denona does it that way too that’s why I can never follow along with her tutorials lol. And after watching your video just now, I am questioning if I put on the right eyeshadow. I got a peacock look going thanks to Clionadh's Anneal, but did think about putting on JD Glow's Unexpected, but didn't. Don't get me wrong I love my eyeshadow look with Anneal, but maybe I should have used Unexpected instead. Maybe I will do that tomorrow? Or maybe I won't. Won't know until tomorrow what I'm putting on my eyes.

I don't think I ever felt a colour statement as much as when you said you were drawn towards those silvery greens in theory and end up not liking them on yourself. I recently got obsessed with wanting to create a pretty green eyelook and after long hours of research, I bought a few eyeshadows (one of them actually being Lisa Eldridge's "Anais") and oh boy, I hate them so much on myself. I also have really fair skin with an olive undertone and I just can't get them to work. As much as I adore Lisa and am drawn to her palettes, I think this video sealed the deal for me and I'll save my money. While you make the colours (and I pretty much felt drawn to the same ones you mentioned and "duped") work beautifully, that's just not the shades I really need in my life (I WANT them, but I don't NEED them). Maybe once the customisable palettes become available, I'll re-evaluate. You look gorgeous nevertheless of course

Well, I just wanted to say that I like to line my brown eyes with Pixie endless silky eye pen(cil) in sage gold - very similar vibes to your first color. May have to branch out this holiday season and see what happens! Also, have you heard of Revlon (spell check keeps trying to add Revolution) abstract orange? It’s a grungy toffee orange with iridescence reminiscent of pink - I love it! Would love to expand it with lip pencils 💡

Hi Hannah. Am excited to get my LE products, but NOT buying the eye palettes...at least not at this time. I ordered two single shadows and a new lipstick. Nowadays, her makeup range has expanded, with more choice and she generally restocks her past products. It's easier now to be more discerning about one's purchases.I don't know her powder shadow formulas either, so wanted to just try a couple to see how they perform. (BTW I ordered Ritual and Madrigal. Great minds think alike. Haha!)

Actually I think a nice dupe for Madrigal would be in the Flower Punk by Kaleidos. It probably pulls more yellow, but has a darker base and the greeny and antique gold feel :) I was tempted by those palettes, but not enough to pull the trigger. There is so much amazing makeup these days, so I'm leaving space in my collection for new temptations!

Ya, I've splurged during all the sales, HLP, but especially Clove + Hallow, because I love the pressed mineral products. BUT wanna tell you I got Kett Cosmetics O1 and N1 creme foundations. They're less balmy-emollient than SNY, so I'm curious to see how they move on my skin, but with swatching, there is NO CONTRAST between my pores and the rest of my skin - that in itself is promising. Also, I got DM colorfix in Nude 1, and Foils in Milky Way. Nude 1 is fairly close to N1 by Kett, but a LOT more coverage, and matte. Milky Way is gorgeous (with my coloring,) glittery, and seems like it doesn't budge once set, so I'm definitely gonna be experimenting with it. Lastly, since I got the LA Girl HD Conceal in green due to you demoing it, I also picked up Porcelain, and boy, it's peachy! I might be able to use it as a color correcter around my eyes when I'm having a wrecked day (as I've gotten older, my circles have definitely worsened.) I'm skipping the Lisa Eldridge palettes for now. I've got so many eyeshadows to experiment with that I might be able to make a similar look with what I have, but I love the Sorcery palette, plus teal is one of my son's fav colors on me, so down the road I may snag it. Most "neutrals" colors these days are too warm for my coloring, or too dark, and usually too saturated/heavy, so I often use blush or bronzer around my eyes for a more subtle, neutral layer, but for color? I enjoy violets, greys, blues, silvers, icy whites, and subtle cool browns, so Sorcery is a contender. As I've said before that even though our skintone is very similar, particularly that muted undertone, your other coloring is more high contrast than mine (hair, brows, eyes,) and warmer, so you seem to pull off warmer hues better than I do. Your eyes are also larger (+ your irises) than mine, so your peeps don't get lost like mine do in strong looks. I may modify this post after testing Kett on my face, but it's so cold and dry here in CO right now that I'll have to do some serious skin prepping for makeup. Thank you, HLP, for all you share. It has really helped me.

These eyeshadow palettes really reminded me of the Fenty ones that everyone was disappointed with. I've got indie shadows that would cover the more interesting shades. Sadly, I think the reason there’s not empty palettes immediately is money. The amount of handling and processing needed to give everyone a custom palette would be immense, and render the curated palettes obsolete. This way they drive curated palette sales. I have z palettes so didn’t need a Lisa compact and just got two singles I was most into and feel SMUG at my restraint tbh.

I found a dupe for Madrigal in my own collection. Dior Couleurs Couture 579 Jungle. I don't know the shade color. Was tossed with box. 😭 bottom left shade. Wicked beautiful.
