Big Mistake to try a maiden flight on a breezy Day - 100% Pilot Error, but around these parts of the World its nearly always breezy and while i wait for replacement blades to become available it gives me a chance to 'experiment' with this strange bird. In the next video it will show a type of learning aid to help reduce the chance of the gyro flipping over while on the ground and i also mage to successfully rebuild the damaged blade.
But the biggest piece of advice for new pilots of this G2 is to wait for near perfect weather conditions, avoid breezy winds and when you do get into the air, keep plenty of forward momentum to keep that rotor blade spinning

On my V1 version that had no spin-up motor i used to wait for a windy day to get the head spinning then hand launch it.

That’s great news about hand launching, fair dues to your skills. Thanks buddy

Solid advice thank you, I always point into the wind but this field has a lot of swirling side gusts, maybe I should find a better airfield 👍

A gyro copter cannot start with cross wind. You always have to take care the propeller show in the wind. Next, the grass is by far to high for the wheels. I have the same and found out the main rotor cannot rotate free. The mechanic for the prerotating was braking the rotation. It was that hart slowed down, the rotor cannot reach the necessary speed.

Big thanks for your advice, a side wind caught me out, I fixed the blades and managed a brief flight- 🎉

I actually surprised myself by managing to repair the blades with very light carbon fibre rods and gorilla glue 😅

@@rcpilots1291 cool! I hit power lines with mine! Destroyed all the blades and propeller. Split the body in half length wise. But easily repaired. Just need blades prop and done glue! But it flew great until the power lines.

Isn’t it crazy misfortune to actually hit power lines?🤬, that’s some skill. Fair dues to you managing to get out all fixed and flying. I’ve put’training wheels’ on mine to help avoid her tipping over in squirrly breezes. I’ll post of video of it in the next days. I hope you have loads more happy flying with your bird. I’m still abit unsure if it’s fun for me or just a bit beyond my abilities. I think they have just gotten replacement blades in stock

@@rcpilots1291 I was trying to fly in a tight spot. I made a couple of circuits and forgot about the power lines. I can tell that it's a great flyer. Keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks, the swirling breezes caught me out, I’m guessing it was blowing between 10/15 mph and

Oh yea kind of high winds for a low speed chopper. Steward froh HK stated under 10 mph winds are safer in the product video for the G2V2.@@rcpilots1291

Oh no bud gutted for you. Looked like you had it in a cross wind as it got hit on the side? I wanted 1 of these but not sure now looks a bit fragile those blades shouldn't break that easy imo bud. Good luck next time ❤❤❤

Hey buddy, thanks for your kind words. I had it facing the wind but a gust came swirling from the side, silly me to have tried it in such blustery conditions. I’ve fixed the blade and added wide sticks with wheels fixed to the base of the fuselage to stop it tipping infuture - sort of like ‘training wheels ‘ 😅 I’ll be uploading a video of it soon. Happy flying buddy
