Simply beautiful. I have a soft spot for that Excalibur.

Excellent maiden and glad the onboard footage worked out well. Thanks for the mentions, I'll return the favour.

I appreciate having a few flying buddies at the field for a maiden. It adds to the sense of occasion. And the camera really did work out a treat, thanks again! I might have to order one....

Awesome maiden Mike! Been hanging out for it. he he. I really want one now! They look like a great flying glider for sure. Great Job!

Sorry Jas, I missed your comment earlier. It is an excellent warn liner, a good slope soarer and an OK glider. Did you get one yet?

Michael Downie Sounds great Mike! I've just been too busy lately to worry about anything rc but this plane is definitely the first on my list. Hopefully in a months time. ;)

Get one! It's awesome.

We head that laughter and fun too. I mixed some 25% flaperons to get the speed out of the plane wenn landing
@xxMADxMICKxx8 жыл бұрын
It was an excellent maiden. I also added flaperons/spoilerons but only 12% at first. I like the spoilerons (ailerons up) effect better, seems to slow the plane a lot more. Such a great flying plane.
@johnsauren47308 жыл бұрын
doesn't you get more speed with spoilerons??
@xxMADxMICKxx8 жыл бұрын
For me, less speed/lift than the flaps

Check out my next video, has some testing with the flaperons/spiolerons

Awesome sweet maiden flight looking at one of these myself from Hobbyking 👍 Would this be alright for a first plane?
@xxMADxMICKxx7 жыл бұрын
definitely not a good first plane. Maybe a third plane. I would recommend a bixler or a AXN cloud fly as a first plane.
@vuss21077 жыл бұрын
Damn they look pretty good in the air, might look into planes a bit more then. Cheers mate 👍

If you have not already seen it, I can highly recommend the Flite Test Beginner series - kzbin.info/aero/PL6IuSFWz4ktvupu_gxw1vn-sjBGOkJFHV I have learnt an immense amount from these guys.

nice maiden are you using esc brake or spoilerons to help slow it down for landing?
@xxMADxMICKxx8 жыл бұрын
G'day Bob, I do have the ESC brake engaged to stop the prop at 0 throttle, but I'd anything it picks up speed (at least for a little) with the prop back out of the way. I set the ailerons up on the y-harness as it came out of the box, so no flaperons or spoilerons. I think I'll change this though and put the ailerons on seperate channels and add flaperons and spoilerons to a slider to test out their effect and hopefully slow if down for landing. Cheers Michael

I just maidened mine on saturday and my heart was definitely pumping....... how did you hold your camera onboard?? thanks
@xxMADxMICKxx8 жыл бұрын
I hear you, one of my more exciting/nerve wrecking maidens. The camera was actually a friend's (Andrew Newton) 808 keychain and I just taped it on with two strips of electrical tape. I think the footage came out really nice. Cheers Michael

Thanks I usually use the hobbyking blue Velcro but I was wondering at the speed this thing does would it still be on when I landed.......
@xxMADxMICKxx8 жыл бұрын
Oh that blue velcro should be ok, that is very strong.

Thanks for the tip. I think Andrew did even mention that bit of advice there, but it is all sorted now. Cheers Michael
