When you come undone isn't necessarily about getting undressed as much as it is when everything falls apart.
@donquixote...4 жыл бұрын
Well, the way I heard him (Simon Lebonn) explain it is that it is like the first time you fall in love. But the mood and imagery doesn't really seem like that at all, more like breaking apart from a passionate romance in some tragic way, or the tearing between fears and hopes... But what do I know...

It actually was a pretty well known song, reaching number 7 in the US and number 13 in the UK, that's not my definition of underrated. it's a great tune and was not their biggest hit, that is true. Simon wrote the song for his wife who was going thru a crisis. Her kids were at the teen stage where they were rebelling, her body was changing & she had a breakdown. I think this was the song they were reworking &when Simon heard it, said he wanted it as a gift to his wife. Like all of their songs, it's relatable and universal. People come undone every day, minute and second. Sometimes just acknowledging were not perfect, goes a long way towards healing. Peace💖

Hey, there is no girl in DD. They have had many songs with guests vocalists. The two songs you just did is 90s DD. If you want to get a feel of the Duran Duran that ruled the world in the 80s, Hungry Like the Wolf and Rio are good starting choices. I think you will also get the same vibe as Come Undone and Ordinary World from Save a Prayer, which is a must. The videos for all of their 80s hits are just as significant as the music. They were one of the first bands of the 80s to film on 18mm in exotic locales or with high budgets. I totally get what you said about the vibe. Their music is absolutely a vibe. I can't think of a better way to describe why they are so good.

Oh, by the way, here is a fun fact of Duran Duran. When the band was forming, it was the New Wave stage. They had been a band for a few years, but went through lead singers like drinking a glass of water. They really weren’t a popular band at that time, and were looking for the “perfect” frontman. The New Wave era, one of my personal favorite eras, had a certain look, from the clothes, to the synthesizer, and the HAIR! They held auditions. When Simon Le Bon came in, he had it all, ........except his voice! They hired him anyway. Handsome ❤️, obviously, great hair, absolutely, but he had to go through intensive voice lessons, for a WHILE. Paid off big time, and the rest is history. Just a fun fact. We young adult women were immediately in love with him, and probably still are today!
