I’m so happy you support and respect Duran Duran as musicians. They got a bad rap before the 90’s and since getting their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, critics are seeing and hearing their talent as quality creative musicians. Their good looks, style and hair may have distracted instead of enhancing in the 80’s, but I’ve been a fan for the long haul. They write their own lyrics and music, plus play their own instruments and have the most distinct and beautifully sounding singer Simon Le Bon. Just love them and their music!

After the massive success of the 'comeback' single Ordinary World it was always going to be hard to follow it up but fair play to DD they clearly did it with Come Undone a pretty underrated gem I think and a very good tune.

This was their huge comeback in 1993. In the early 80s, they were arguably the biggest band out there, and teenage girls flocked to them. This gave them the reputation of being a teen girls band. Dudes liked them, but felt they couldnt admit that. They were the One Direction, BTS etc of those days. Then, from 88-92, it became uncool to like them, male or female. When this 1993 album came out, it sounded like a new band, with modern sounding songs, and people were more open to accepting this new sound. Plus, a lot of those former female fans, now had families and didnt follow music closely anymore, and didnt even realize these songs were from the band they idolized a decade prior. I myself, had no idea it was Duran, when i first heard " ordinary world" . In early 93, radio said they would be playing a new Duran song in the next hour, it played fully , while i was still waiting for their new song to play lol . Had NO IDEA it was them

This was not a "huge" comeback. Can we lay this myth to rest? Duran Duran was "not" the One Direction or BTS of "those days." Duran Duran actually play their own instruments, write their own music & produce their own albums to say the least. You say, "Dudes liked them, but felt they couldnt admit that." Another myth. I was a "dude" back then & knew many, many "dudes" who liked the band for crying out loud. When I was growing up, you had the "New Wavers" & the "Rockers." Many "dudes" who were "New Wavers" were into Adam and the Ants, The (English) Beat, The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Tears For Fears, U2 & Duran Duran, etc. & weren't shoegazers ashamed to admit being a Duran Duran fan or a New Waver. In the other camp you had the "Rockers" who were into AC/DC, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Van Halen & etc. Just as the "Rockers" weren't afraid to admit to liking Motley Crue or wearing a Motley Cruet-shirt or button, male Duran Duran fans did the same with Duran Duran. Yes, Duran Duran did get many teenage girls to like the band but before the pandemonium of teenage girls took Duran Duran into megalomania fandom, for years, Duran Duran was a band that was primarily supported by college-aged audiences to club-going & alternative radio listening adult audiences. Duran Duran was not all about teenage girls liking the band. They were just the loudest as Duran Duran had & has a diverse wide-ranging group of supporters.

Andy Taylor has been a DD member between (1980-1986) & then again since (2001-2006). There is no substitute guitarist for Andy as he has not been a member of the band since 2007. They just employ various guitarists as needed for an album or song.

He is not even a member of Duran Duran & I repeat, he has not been a member since he left the band in 2006, mate. This was the announcement from Duran Duran about Andy Taylor leaving the band (for the 2nd time) announced on 25 October 2006: "As of last weekend [...] the four of us have dissolved our partnership and will be continuing as Duran Duran without Andy, as we have reached a point in our relationship with him where there is an unworkable gulf between us and we can no longer effectively function together." The last album Andy Taylor made as a member of Duran Duran was Astronaut, released in 2004. The next album Duran Duran made w/out Andy was Red Carpet Massacre (2007). Guitars on the album were played by Dom Brown, who has been their live session/concert/touring guitarist since 2007 & Brown filled in for Andy during their previous "Astronaut" album tour when Andy was away from some several shows between 2004-2006. The following albums: All You Need Is Now (2011) & guitars were primarily played by Dom Brown w/Mark Ronson on 1 track. Paper Gods (2015) & guitars were played by Dom Brown on 2 tracks, John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on 4 tracks, Nile Rodgers (Chic) on 1 track & Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) on 1 track. Future Past (2021). Guitars were played by Graham Coxon (Blur) on all but one track & Mark Ronson on 1 track. Danse Macabre (2023). Guitars were played by Dom Brown on 2 tracks, Nile Rodgers on 2 tracks, Mr. Hudson on 1 track, Warren Cuccurullo on 2 tracks & Andy Taylor, as a guest on the album like all the guitarists on this album, played on 10 tracks. End of Story.

This is another one of my favourite songs by Duran Duran 🎉🎉🎉Anna Ross were vocals are brilliant awesome amazing epic and she is still with um today the longest female backing vocals to be with Duran Duran 🎉🎉🎉the song is about Yasmin lebon Simon wrote it for her for her birthday 🎂🎇🎂 and they've been married 37 years on the 27th December 2023 so yes just a epic brilliant single 🎉🎉🎉

Yes Travis they av wrote sum amazing songs Simon lebon the front man ok but John Taylor bass guitar player and nick Rhodes mastermind behind Duran Duran also write songs as well to help Simon lebon 🎉🎉🎉that's what a call a band and also better epic live then on vinyl or CDs sum times that audience was from Manchester UK sold out venue 25 k ppl there I live near Birmingham uk were they cum from again when they play they sell out every venue and also Ireland and Scotland and all venues around the UK this is what you call a band totally awesome amazing epic brilliant True musicians from the past and the future totally bloody awesome 🎉🎉🎉

They are still putting out records! 2021's Future Past is great! And oct 27th this year they put out a Halloween album with deep cuts reimagined, and covers of Talking Heads, Siouxsie, Specials. They are special and a hell of a lot if fun (and still hot!).
