I heard this song for the first time at a party on my first boyfriend’s 15th birthday. There’s even a line “happy birthday to you”. I thought that was appropriate. I can’t say that I understood the song, but I was mesmerized by it. I was also mesmerized by my very first, very own boyfriend, he was just so beautiful, innocent and perfect in every way, I adored him. I’m sure the raging hormones helped too. I’m a middle aged woman now and looking back on it I realize that I never loved anyone again the way I loved him - with complete abandon. Five years later that beautiful boy lost both legs in a brutal war and I was a refugee in a foreign, cruel, cold place, trying but failing to find a way to belong. Time flies…one moment you’re a beautiful, skinny, athletic, carefree girl madly in love and full of life, and the next moment you’re a raging menopausal woman angry with the world, chronically annoyed, missing your parents and grandparents daily, remembering with grief your first and very tragic love, drinking wine by noon on the days you actually get out of bed and cursing like a sailor day in and day out. Until the next life my friends, until the next time we’re young and beautiful again, let’s at least enjoy this magnificent, timeless work of art…as I come undone for the millionth time.

This song gives some chills, coming from the depths of one soul. And from the inside of inspiration of a band, by then, described as almost finished, comes their best song, a song so deep in meaning. One cannot live his/her life without listening at least one time.

Mine immaculate dream Made breath and skin, I've been waiting for you Signed, with a home tattoo Happy birthday to you was created for you (Can't ever keep from falling apart at the seams) (Can not believe you've taken my heart to pieces) Oh, it'll take a little time Might take a little crime To come undone now [Pre-Chorus: Simon Le Bon] We'll try to stay blind To the hope and fear outside Hey child, stay wilder than the wind And blow me into crime [Chorus 1: Simon Le Bon] Who do you need? Who do you love When you come undone? Who do you need? Who do you love When you come undone? [Verse 2: Simon Le Bon & Tessa Niles] Words, playing me déjà vu Like a radio tune, I swear I've heard before Chills, is it something real Or the magic I'm feeding off your fingers? (Can not forgive from falling apart at the seams) (Can not believe you're taking my heart to pieces) Lost, in a snow filled sky We'll make it alright To come undone now [Pre-Chorus: Simon Le Bon] We'll try to stay blind To the hope and fear outside Hey child, stay wilder than the wind And blow me into crime
