"As Winter Marches On", is the hidden gem for me on Notorious.

Still listen to this 30 years later.I think it's one of their best right after their side project Arcadia which still rocks my ears and still sounds fresh.Love these guys.

Yes, was an album ( then and now) with a particular and remarkable sound engineering, the projection in the lyrics on the songs, show us the growth in the brillant composition of the band.. really a Notorious album.

Duran Duran had always been one step ahead . This album might have been somewhat under estimated back in the day, but now we realize how great it is . Most of our generation was still stuck with the new wave sound back then .

I thoroughly enjoyed that from Nile and the Duran boys. Really insightful and intriguing. American Science for me was the stand out track on the album, at the time. Funny enough, now I've lost a little bit of love for that song. Maybe, it's an age thing, I don't know. Winter marches on, was and still is one of the most beautiful ballads that Duran have ever done, in my opinion. And these boys do ballads extremely well indeed. So, on reflection. Notorious is up there, in my top three all time favourite Duran albums. It sits pride of place along with Rio and All you need is now !!!

Of course they've made a lot of great albums since but Notorious remains my favourite Duran LP. The title track remains in their setlist and rightly so but this is an album full of brilliant deep cuts. Skin Trade, American Science, Vertigo, Matter of Feeling and Winter Marches on..It's just a great sounding record.

Such a great record. My 3rd favorite. When an album’s weakest track is it’s 3rd single (“Meet El Presidente”) that says a lot about ho balanced it is.

SIMON WAS SO PISSED WHEN I STOLE THEIR CONCERT IN MADRID. WEN'T WITH THE WIFE (THE REAL ONE). May 23, 1987
They might have done better albums than this, but NOTORIOUS is my #1!
@greengrass10723 жыл бұрын
This album should’ve been much bigger than it was. The single selection after the title track wasn’t the greatest. Vertigo should’ve been the second single released (just a terrific track) and Hold Me or even American Science following that. The world just wasn’t ready for Skin Trade. It was a great album track, but for some reason they thought different. Don’t even get me started on Meet El Presidente, it was probably the weakest song on Notorious. The only thing that was worse than it was the god awful remix they released for the single.
@JOHNNYSGIRL19603 жыл бұрын
Andy was manipulative. I'm glad he's gone! If he didn't want to be there he should have just gone!
