They try to change the subject and ask me why I talk about that and if I have boyfriend from a differenct caste. Which is not they case. I just want to educate them, that their view is not valid anymore in todays world..

When I was 18 I started dating this guy who happened to be Tamil for a couple of months, I eventually told my mum the usual things that parents would like to hear... kind, clever, ambitious and close to his family. However none of these attributes were more important than the dreaded Caste topic. In order to make my mum happy and to sort of tick off the list, I asked him what caste he was not even knowing what caste I was or anything about it. It's still something that makes me cringe and feel sick. I'm glad your parents share progressive values, gives me hope that our community won't always be so backward and judgemental.

My grandma is also a breast cancer survivor and I was really young than but I remember certain days where it was tough. But its def gods blessing and your moms will power to fight it. The whole cast thing is so dumb but we would love to see a video on it!
