As a theist who feels the need to be aware of the effects of collective effervescence, and a student whose course material is another KZbin video which is inaccessible, I appreciate this breakdown and introduction to the topic.

Beautiful video. "For religious people Its not about good or bad, its about sacred or profane" that seems very clear in some cases. Thank YOU

I do sociology research, and this study on religion is clear and very concise. I enjoyed the clarity and tone of the video. I will use this in a course I have coming up!👌🏽

This video was assigned as part of an anthropology class I'm in and I found it very easy to follow and relatable even though I'm not religious. Thank you!

@@thesociologyprofessor hi,you might not even see this but if you do,can you suggest some books or videos on theories of deviancy...it would be a great help
@thesociologyprofessor2 ай бұрын
@@asthachaudhri8518 There are a few videos on this channel that cover specific theories of deviance - the video on Merton's Strain Theory, and the one on Labeling Theory. Beyond that, The Outsiders by Howard Becker is a popular book on the subject. But if you're looking for a general overview, I'd actually recommend buying anyone of the dozens of textbooks on the subject. Such books will provide a broad overview of a range of theories. From there, if you wanted to learn more about any of the specific theories in the book, you could use the references section in the back to find the primary sources for those specific theories. I hope this helps!

why did you stop posting videos? :(
@thesociologyprofessor Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. I wouldn't say that I stopped posting videos. It's more that I've been posting them infrequently. I make these videos in addition to a full-time career, family, and other hobbies. I do, however, plan to add more videos over time. In fact, my intent is to give more attention to this channel in the coming year. Thank you again for watching!
