This video was a huge facto for me in deciding to buy the DUSK ottoman. I also built it on my own. I'm sixty, look seventy and feel eighty. A few tricky bits (the angle supports) but got there in the end. Early days but I'm very happy with the bed. Thanks for a great video!! EDIT.... it's also great to see you answer questions raised. Thanks so much for the super helpful video. Your bedroom looks gorgeous. I am in a rental apt atm and it's got a shockingly creaky cheap ottoman bed. I am sleeping terribly. Was considering buying the Ascot to replace it and wondered how yours was faring up esp with the creak factor or whether I should just buy the standard Ascot.

You could probably stand at the bottom of the bed on the sides and lift up the ottoman bit. Easier if one on each side.

Once all in I tightened them yes. Just easier to line them all up.

Hi the weight of items in the storage bit will probably be very light as it’s just some cloth in the storage compartment? Will it come apart with heavier items like shoes, bags, extra bedding towels?

Mine is rammed with lots of heavy items. It’s pretty thick, I don’t think it will come apart. Not unless you are taking thinks in and out every day ?

Literally just had the same issue - get two people and one either side of the frame push down really hard - you just need to get the mechanism going a few times!

You need to have the mattress on top , the extra weight helps it go down. Without it’s difficult

How odd, mine have never shed? Unless they’ve changed them, had mine for a couple of years. I have washed mine a few times.

The black fabric just sits in the floor and secures on.

Can you remove the fabric to clean or cover, especially the headboard? Fabric going to show marks very quickly.

No, you can’t remove the fabric. We lean against cushions so never get marks on the headboard.

@kirstygriffiths749 you know where the headboard meets the sides of the bed, at those 2 headboard - side of bed corners we are asked to attach 2 angle corner brackets. There are also 2 more for the footboard and side of bed corners.....but the bed metal frame that raises up and down, rest on the 2 bottom footboard - side of bed, corner angle brackets but nothing rest on the 2 that connect the headboard to the side of the bed. Which I found strange unless they are only there for side support? You notice it when you close the bed frame and see that the bottom part of the frame rest on the bottom angle brackets and the top part of the frame is just floating above the angle corner brackets at the headboard. You demonstrate the brackets at 8:10. Hope you understand the part I am talking about. Thanks again

Mine doesn’t have a single mark on it, we sit with big cushions so never thought it. Just vacuum the top. I don’t have direct sunlight on mine so it won’t fade.

Yeah I’m having the same issue! 3/4 of the sides are in the correct position to put my screws & bracket onto, but the fourth (top left corner of the bed) is angled so the bracket won’t screw into the headboard. Bizarre but definitely can’t be how it’s meant to be assembled as the bracket then is no longer flat

Doesn’t say how many pocket springs are in the mattress great video fantastic video I ordered a mattress of dusk 2000 pocket springs and memory foam but have to say the mattress you linked looks like its got a lot more in it i also ordered an optimum bed from dusk same colour but with the fabric design and them button holes on the head board you reckon it will be worth the money i got the 25 of using a code cost me £598 for the bed and mattress what are your views again wonderful video and i was worried about dusk as never heard of them before but this video has put my mind at rest thanks
