Donna tends to be left out of the conversation cause she's just kinda... worse. she's a 4 mana 2/4 which already kinda sucks but then she's also only able to go face, and a big thing with Spitemare and Boros Reckoner and Screaming Nemesis is that they're really good at creating situations where they trade up or blow out people

I'd like to highlight one card that's probably not "good," but it sure is funny: Hedge Shredder. Idk how much self-mill you can realistically play, but the prospect of flipping lands straight into play off a dredge trigger or satyr wayfinder is pretty hot. And did somebody say "non-deterministic pseudo-combo with Hedron Crab?" Plus, your mana dork (or satyr wayfinder, wink wink) can crew it into a 5/5 that ramps when it attacks if you have nothing else going on lol

I think gleeful arsonists (the 2R 1/2 with undying that deals damage to your opponent equal to its power when they cast a noncreature spell) might be interesting in equipment, just because it kind of protects itself once you get equipment onto it? god forbid you get a collosal hammer on it lol, plus it they do kill it it'll come back so you're less likely to run out of creatures to equip? maybe it's more cute than good, but just wanted to mention this potential home for it

The fun thing about FoMo is it's also a combo card! If you have more cards than your opponent has life with a Kiki-Jiki or Splinter Twin effect you can copy it, attack with the hasty token, untap the K-J or original, poop out another an repeat

Saw this on Twitter when Hauntwoods Shrieker was previewed. Turn 1: Forest, Llanowar Elves Turn 2: Forest, Hauntwoods Shrieker Turn 3: Worldly Tutor, put Emrakul on top, attack with Shrieker, manifest Emrakul, turn Emrakul face-up. You don't get the cast trigger but I'll take Emma hitting the board on turn 3. Of course it relies on your opponent not being able to take out a 3/3 with no evasion on their second/third turn. But as you guys mentioned, how often have you lost a game because you just didn't have the removal you needed when you needed it?

yall should check out Gothic Moon - rakdos aggro/midrange with a focus on resource denial via Blood Moon/Strip Mine. I find it has a lot of success especially switching between midrange and aggro

Not mentioned but screaming nemesis offers a partial counterplay to shadowspear - at least in my games the trample is a threat, but the additional lifegain putting my opp out of reach of a burst of damage nails the coffin No life gain while blocking a bit of those karnstructs seems great

Gleeful Arsonist seems pretty decent in equipment or plus 1 counters. Just pump up its power and they could get bolted even on removing it.

4 mana, bolt-range toughness, legend therefore can be bounced, and no other keywords that has to either attack and survive or be tapped by other cards. Those are many hoops and points of failure for a payoff that might not even do much.

Why? There's lots of things that have a keyword in it's name but don't have that keyword. Lair wouldn't really add anything, and there's no real synergy with other Lairs that doing so would add.

I'm a bit confused that nobody realizes that "Razorkin Needlehead" is just "Underworld Dreams" on a body in red. So, the effect is not new and the obnoxious Sheoldred does a way better version of it. Yes, the body can do some work in 1-on-1 magic especially with the First Strike and in a red deck. But it also dies to almost everything.

The only thing "Valgavoth's Lair" has going on is that it counts as enchantment. :/ Why is it not a Lair? Why is it rare? Why does it exist?

It's a rare because that kind of mana fixing they still don't want at common or uncommon, it exists because it's in a set with Delirium and ways to mill, discard, or sacrifice lands/enchantments. What mechanically does it do that makes it need to be a Lair? This is the same kind of logic that thinks random cold-themed cards need to have the Snow supertype, or that noncreatures that reference a certain type of creature have to also be Kindred.
