Hi. Just wanted to thank you for your incredible content. I’m an entrepreneur that runs a small business to pay the bills and woodworking hobbyist in my spare time. Your shop is real inspiration and I believe you and I think very much the same way. I know you also have a real job and woodworking is just a hobby. However, I would LOVE to see more content from you. Your channel has to be one of the best kept secrets in KZbin woodworking. With the value of content I often wonder how you don’t have 10x the subscribers. Keep up the great work. You are a real inspiration to a lot of us out here. BB

Awesome shop! The miter saw station, mobile router table/ storage cabinet, workbench & outfeed/ expanding tracksaw table you built are exceptional! you’re a master at packing tons of functionality into a visually stunning design! And had to lol... I think I know exactly where you may have been coming when you mentioned doing A LOT of researching on Pinterest, KZbin, etc in preparation for your miter saw station design/build... Nothing worse then investing all your time, effort & resources into completing a big shop project like a Miter Saw Station... And you finally finish up your meticulously built project only to then come across some other design or concept that you like even better, wished you would have gone with instead or even just some clever added functionality, etc. that you totally wish you would have incorporated. Or maybe that’s just seems to be my experience :)

Couldn’t agree with you more about mobile bases for all the tools and workbenches. Makes easy cleanup and making more space around a tool that is mounted that way. Very nice shop and well organized. I know what you mean about every horizontal surface is a magnet for tools you are using and just plain junk. Like your mobile adjustable tool corral. Nice that it is height adjustable. You have a lot of conveniences in the space you have. Finally your dust collection is fantastic. I do the same since I have COPD and its a must to keep me woodworking.

@@benschmolze1266 Efficient Vertical Storage & Organization is key in a small wood/work shop. Try to look for any overhead areas where you can make built-in, hinged storage cabinets or fixtures that swing down into the main isle for easy access when needed. But try to only keep bulky, lighter weight items up there that you do not need very often...or possibly for lumber storage as well. Even your dust collection/shop-vac can go overhead and be easily lowered by a simple rope & pulley system for efficient servicing. Rolling tool carts or pull-out shelves and trays that store under your workbench for heavy items such as a thickness planer work extremely well, especially if it's a tool that you really need but don't use on a daily basis. I'm learning A LOT by having recently downsized by moving my wood shop from my 3-car garage into a single 20ft shipping container, as I was fortunate enough to inherit some very fine classic automobiles and didn't want the constant dust or potential for damage to be an issue due to impact, paint or wood finishing, etc. I also didn't want to go through the hassle & red tape of pulling permits to build a separate, larger workshop at this point in time even though I am blessed with 5 acres of fairly clear property to work with. And I am truly enjoying the challenge of designing & building efficient work areas & storage into the new, extremely space-challenged shop. :) It has helped me immensely in downsizing and getting rid of tools and junk that I've collected for years but just don't use and have only held onto simply because "I have the extra space". It's been refreshing to clear out the clutter & crap that has inhibited my efficient workflow! It has actually been kind of nice to have nearly EVERYTHING within easy reach, and has eliminated the constant jog back & forth across the larger workshop from one workstation to another. I'm even designing a compact, removable vertical panel saw & gantry apparatus that attaches to the faces of two standard 4ft wide x 2ft deep metal storage shelf units because I no longer have the open horizontal benchtop surface area for my track saw setup in order to break down large sheet goods. We'll see how it all works out. I may have to add a second storage container just for raw materials, lumber storage, and flammable finishing supplies that is placed parallel to the existing shipping container with a 10ft-12ft wide covered outdoor workspace/carport between them. I really enjoy working outdoors when weather permits. The wifely is much happier now as well being able to use the garage for it's main purpose again, LOL...and so am I! Take a look a Ben Paak's *Woby Design* KZbin channel and his two shop tour videos for a bit more inspiration. Most importantly, try keep at least one clear path/corridor/isle through the entire length of the shop if at all possible! This allows you to pull out each tool into this aisle to have maximum in-feed and out-feed capability. Good luck and enjoy the journey!

The shop is great. Your attention to detail is spot on. This is first video of yours I’ve watched so forgive me some odd questions. 1. What are you making? Are you a contractor or just a custom build guy? 2. Why make videos? Do you get sponsors or you just enjoy recording the process? 3. I read the comments on the mic, but honestly most of the shop tour videos look like a Hollywood production crew instead of a real shop. So you should know some of us are fine with lower production. Bigger isn’t always better. I’m moving into my new 30x30 shop. Fully finished walls, floors, and ceiling. Working on a layout plan now. So your dust collection was key to me. I see you use pvc pipes. Do you have static charge buildup? Plus it appears your gates are switches. Does this system cost much and can you expand it quickly. Thank for you tour.

Thanks. I’m a hobby woodworker. Basically make stuff for the house and love doing it. I’m an ER doctor full time and hope to use my shop skills to make custom cabinets for fun when I retire. I make videos for fun and to help other woodworkers. And make about $5 bucks a day for it so I can buy a new tool now and then. I film all my videos on my iPhone and edit them on the iPhone too so I’m not fancy and get the negative criticism from the videophiles out there. The dust collection does cost a lot. It’s about $10 per 10’ of the pipe and about $7-10 for each fitting. Not cheap. Check out my dust collection video to learn more about the system and blast gates. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZysd4Ogf7SEhLc glad you liked the tour.

Walnut Workshop just watched the dust collection video. Helpful. I can see why you need a hobby. ER is no place for stress build up. As a former police officer I know a little about stress build up. Your tools suggest a sizable output in money. So any income off of those is helpful. I’ve worked in some high end cabinet shops/ companies. CNC work, custom German giant panel saws, but it still all comes down to the craftsman. Those tools have their place, but getting your hands messy is still the best. For Christmas my daughter bought me a t-shirt. Sawdust is man glitter. It’s really true. I can’t suggest too much on your place. The one item we all need is more space. It never fails, we are set and the. That one project comes where we see why we need more space. My best advice for that is tents. Nice pop up tents with sides.

I subbed after seeing your dust collection Many months ago, and noticed at the time your tight clean design for workspace. I’m planning a complete reorganization on my existing 20x30 space (with no sacred cows/so anything or everything can change except the doors and windows) just finished scaling the template overview floor plan last night. Your video is seriously on time for me and I planned to refer back to your channel this week, today, your shop tour popped into my feed. I am debating between Clear Vue DC instead of going with Oneida super dust deputy, and wonder your views on that. 6” pipe runs seem to be recommended, but adds to the cost and pipey-ness of the install, so there’s another consideration. Totally agree with your views on “FSS” flat surface syndrome and I’ve been using a table nearly the same size as your table saw extension that Doubles as a glue, clamp, sand, and assembly surface. Mine has no shelves or extensions, just a beefy table on wheels.

You have a beautiful workshop. I love all the walnut cabinetry that you have designed and made and I also love your well planned designs for 'getting maximum use out of a smaller footprint', and 'creative ways to prevent clutter'. It looks like dust has no chance in your workshop. Good for you! I too am a fan of the French Cleat storage system and would like to convert everything in my home to it! I also admire the fact that you haven't fallen into the trap of buying a bunch of fancy shmancy designer tools that dont work any better than the ones you have. The only thing I didnt like was the way you were such a p rick at the end. You are obviously a bright guy. You could have simply said "I'm not going to bore you with opening all the cabinets and drawers, because I dont particularly like watching tours where people do that, and I think most of you dont like it either. Thanks for watching my workshop tour.

Thanks for the comment. Final statement was for comic relief. Others have found it funny. Did not mean to offend.

@@Selandry1 I found it very funny and subbed of the back of it. A little sarcasm is needed now and then. Your workshop is incredible 👍

Nice set up. It would be cool if you made a video of that little tool try you showed briefly. I like that you had a pneumatic lift on it. What did you use for that?
