Hi you two! Three weeks in Kruger Park! Thank you for taking me along on this fabulous holiday. This last episode really is tops, with the abundance of everything - lions, elephant, rivers, giraffe, birds, history ...... . All captured with outstanding photography. Thank you so, so, so much for sharing your wonderful trip to Kruger with us all. I couldn't wait for your epsidoes. I am so sorry that your last hours were marred by such a sad and unnecessary experience with the roller. I absolutely adore your commentary, Sonja and Curtis (apologies if I have misspelled your names). You had so many special experiences, and I am grateful to have shared them with you. Your noisy beetle on your last evening was a cicada. The four young male lions in the road were skinny, but not exceptionally so. Life is tough for young males ejected from their pride when they have to strike out for themselves; young and inexperienced lions often go hungry, and more so for males as the females do most of the hunting. Thank you again for sharing your time in the park, especially for those of us that are unable to visit. And thank you for each camp tour, Curtis. It was invaluable. I am crying with you, Sonja.

I love watching all your videos of South Africa, your Kruger National Park adventure was exceptional. My dream is to do what you guys have just done. How long in advance did you book all your accommodations in the KNP, in order to stay at all the camps?
@DustBugsTravel
@DustBugsTravel Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I'm glad to hear that you enjoy our videos. The beauty of South Africa, and especially Kruger, has to be shared and we're totally happy to do it! 😍🇿🇦 Because of work obligations and because we knew we'd be away from home and the office for about 3,5 weeks, so we couldn't plan this trip long in advance. It became clear ten days before our departure that we would be able to make it happen. Sonia started playing around on sanparks.org immediately and we were super lucky to secure accommodation in all the camps we wanted to stay in and also in the order that I wanted to travel through the Park. Summer must be the least popular time of year in Kruger because of the intense heat at times, so I think a lot of folks avoid going during these months. Accommodation was still available and the Park was very quiet in the northern parts. I hope you can make your dream come true, you'll have the time of your life! Safe travels! 🚙🤩

Thanks for the work of art, you painted so far. Oh if l dared to call it the best ever look, at your country , a place that you roam.a great treasure you have shown us what is your home. The laughter, the tears, the thigh gripping terror as Kurt's go to near,Sonja trepidation of holy roads, plus don't go to near. Your room reviews of the places you slept and the food you chatted about as though it were a feast. Thank-you Curtis and Sonia for sharing your special trip with us...I have to admit that your series which was incredible, has definitely been the catalyst for my wanting to visit again, I was last there in the late 90s...many moons ago...the footage was excellent, your interactions heartwarming and honest and I definitely felt heartsore when you drove out. Wow! What a trip! It's incredible how much you managed to see every day. Normally there are quiet days where you need to start doing things like stopping to appreciate how beautiful the impala are all over again, but I suppose you must've laughed and thought, "You ain't seen nothin yet", when I made my little joke about you being there during the Great Lion Plague of 2023 several episodes back. It's not all about the lion, but it's amazing when one sees them. Park is looking nice and full of life (although there might be visibly less rhino, now - hopefully temporarily, now they've caught the head of the rhino mafia in Nelspruit). Thanks for sharing it. Makes me feel like I was there, too, sitting in the back next to Dusty. Even the food tasted good.

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to relive my childhood again back in the late 1970's / early 1980's, back then the prices of the rondavels, restaurants and shop prices accommodated the locals, it appears now that the prices are aimed at those people from overseas, spending dollars and pounds, which is actually quite sad, but anyway, you whipped out the tent and toasted saamies and you didn't let finances stand in your way, as you guys say over there........ ''n boer maak 'n plan!' Thank you.

If you have not been to Kruger, you will not understand how emotional it is when the time comes to leave. We feel your sadness 😢 thank you for taking us on the journey. You guys really had some amazing sighting! The reason the entrance changed at Crocodile bridge is due to the huge amount of people entering at this gate, especially during the school holidays. One of the causes is Marloth park which is a huge holiday town outside the park. The wait to get in can be as long as 5hours and the queue of cars goes on for 5 Kms. We were unlucky to get caught up in the queue one year.

I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed this trip as much as we did! 🚙😍 For us, there is only one Kruger and, while we love all Nature Reserves and National Parks and will visit them when possible, we don't know of any others that will lend themselves to another epic three-week trip such as this.

Would you say it's possible to do this trip in a VW Polo? Are there alternate tar roads to reach the camp? I really enjoyed following along on your trip.
@DustBugsTravel
@DustBugsTravel 7 ай бұрын
Absolutely! You'll be totally fine in a Polo! 🚙😁 If you stay in the major camps, you could only travel on tar if you so prefer. You'll just have to plan your itinerary carefully so that you don't have to take long detours if you avoid gravel roads. You'll have a ball! Thank you for following our Kruger journey, it was fantastic!

How many kilometrs have you covered from north to south?
@DustBugsTravel

I didn't keep track of the total kilometres travelled in the Park itself, but I feel a good guesstimate would be about 3000 km's. 🚙😁

Yay gravel! Aha! A tortoise! Now that has made my day. Ja, hy loop so wydsbeen! They have hard horny feet so I doubt that he will feel the road heat. That leopard looks so relaxed! If she (I think so) relaxed more she would fall to bits. Nothing relaxes like a cat. The lions in the road are just amazing. You got up really close to them and they were not bothered at all. Brilliant. The younger males dont have manes. But definitely some spherical bits. WEll they are cats, and they also eat grass to keep the digestive system healthy. What huge paws they have. One wack from a paw can break an antelopes neck.
