I've heard it said that Dusty would have made it in the US anyway, in spite of the Beatles and the "British Invasion". She was bound to appeal to a country that had given us Connie Francis and Brenda Lee. She was also a tireless in her efforts to get Motown exposure in the UK.

I love it too, but I prefer the reverberation and doubled lead vocal on the album version much better. However, the live version shows off her vocal prowess.

@@direfranchement It's been written that Dusty Springfield came from a very dysfunctional family. Her father called her "stupid and ugly". Not a good start, but a motivating one. Eventually, cigarettes, drugs and alcohol figured in. Unfortunate.

This appeared on the Dusty 'Once Upon A Time' DVD, but for some reason was cut out of the Rolling Stones Sullivan DVD and replaced with the second half of her first appearance singing 'I Only Wanna Be With You' (with the first half 'Stay Awhile' missing).

Great voice and great audio mix but are you sure you're not pulling the video transfer from one of my old 1980's Maxell VHS videotapes recorded in the 4 hour mode? Surely this couldn't have been transferred from the original 2" reel to reel videotapes using a decent video card and professional software!
