As ex dutch Navy we often made the joke how the hell do we find the time to fight if are cooking and eating the whole day. But in ernest the dutch MREs are so large and full of high calorie foods to cope with the dutch weather and climate. Most if not all parts of the MRE are available in local drugstores / camping or even travel shops. My favorite was the Nasi goreng and Hutspot The first a leftover traditional dish of our colonial past and the second an old dutch traditional staple dish made since the 80 years war or revolt against spain. Made of patatos unions and Large carrots. ,mashed up in to one pot added with some gravy and piece of thick cut bacon .

Dutch and French have best rations in my opinion. The flavors aren't bland like the US rations. I particularly love the choices, the attention to detail and they pump out the food on these babies. You certainly won't go hungry in the field. Great job.. Part deux!!

I myself would rather watch a longer video instead of omitting items just to shorten the length of the upload !! I base my future purchases off what these reviews contain and really count on thorough and honest descriptions of the products ! Please dont get me wrong You do a great job and I appreciate it very much! Maybe what you said about doing it in 2 parts is a good idea ! Thank You for all your hard work putting these together for us all ! PS I would have put the Peanut butter and Chocolate and the Peanuts in the Parridge !! That would make a heck of a dessert ! Lots of options in this massive ration !

I really did think about making it into 2 parts but i try not to these days since a lot of people usually do not watch the 2nd part, plus it is hard to keep something this big under 30 minutes without sounding rushed. @@nuked99 Your quite welcome Brother! I can only imagine how hard it actually is putting one of these videos together and getting it to come out in a timely manner! @nuked994 жыл бұрын
@@jerrypropstjr8742 Sorry for such a late reply Jerry i am WAY behind on comments. I may not have as much going on as you do but when you live by yourself it seems that there is always something that needs to be done, or else it just does not get done lol. It took me a little while to find my rhythm making videos, but it does become routine after a while, especially trying to get used to using video editing software and knowing how to set up your camera and lighting properly. As for my camera i sold a lot of my older equipment and currently use a Canon EOS Rebel SL2 with the 10-18mm lens. I also have a 50mm lens and the 24mm pancake lens. It's not the cheapest setup for sure, but it's also not the most expensive either. Using a SLR camera is kind of nice for both shooting pictures and making videos at the same time imo, but it is not the best at doing each one separately if that makes sense. One big downside of using a SLR camera for shooting video is most of them have an automatic shutoff at 30 minutes in case it starts getting too hot, which sucks if you plan to live stream. Some people just use their phone when they get started though. Having an external microphone is a nice upgrade plus a good lighting kit if you need it. If you ever wondered why i use a blue cloth is due to my countertops being granite, and the light reflection is horrible! As for my video editing software i did not know how deep i would get into shooting video so i dove off the deep end and started using DaVinci Resolve. It is a major professional package that is free but also has a paid version. I even watched a 45 minute KZbin video just to learn the basics of it. Do i fully utilize every bit of the software? Hell no! But it is nice to know that i now CAN use it if needed. From what i have read the paid version just gives you extra special effects. I know i have rambled quite a bit here but to end this i know there is a lot of people out there to watch on KZbin but the one that got me started off on the right foot runs a page called Think Media. Personally i think he does a great job of camera reviews, KZbin setup, lighting, etc. I hope this helps on getting you started off on the right foot if you plan on starting a page. Just remember to just watch a lot of videos and find your style. I personally think i started off as a mumbling idiot, but i do enjoy the hobby.

Hey John Thanks for watching. The Dutch rations have so much food it can be hard to figure out what to have. Also i did not forget about one of your earlier questions about the light wheat bread that i make. It is not my recipe and really do not plan to make a video of it any time soon, but if you want the recipes i make 2 different ones. The quick version can be found here and is from The Bread Baker's Apprentice smittenkitchen.com/2009/01/light-wheat-bread. The better tasting version but takes longer can be found here from The Bread Bible bewitchingkitchen.com/2011/08/23/cracked-wheat-sandwich-bread. That recipe calls for agave nectar but the original calls for honey. I have both books and they are loaded with excellent recipes for all kinds of bread.
