So basically we're going to keep this economy going for as long as we can until it literally hits the ground and starts combusting in to flames, this will not be a depression this will be a nightmare financially for everyone because right now when the inflation spikes up like a rocket and the dollar detaches itself from normal levels we're going to be just like Zimbabwe or Germany with wheelbarrows of money for bread. I personally feel like we have maybe 4 to 5 years of somewhat economic transactions with money and debt but after 2030 I think that's when everything will falter and hit the skids. I would buy Bitcoin and buy hard assets like gold /silver as a store of value while also actively trading...The only wild card for us investors is to actively engage the market by trading, we always over complicate things when we speculate. It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Francine Duguay, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

They need to be making rate hikes, not cuts. Inflation is still rampant in the economy. Bread sold in my local grocery store just went up 15%.

Rates are still to Low to have any effect on Inflation as the Data still shows . There is not a single area of the economy that shows any Deflation from the current Fed Policies .

Making rate cuts during rising inflation .. the opposite of what they should do. But then again when was the last time they did something right.

Last time they did right was Paul Volcker, who as Fed Chairman had to raise interest rates to 15% to stop Carter's inflation. Btw, JoeB was an ally of Carter's inflation policy back then --- and learned NOTHING from that experience.

@@rayrussell6258 Actually the top inflation rate was in 1981, intra-year, reached 21%. But you can get away with that when the National Debt was barely a Trillion. Not when it’s $35 Trillion with no end in sight. Look what happened when they tried it 2016 to 2019.

@@ace9840 no we couldn't get away with that, people were harmed by that inflation watching their life savings decline in purchasing power, and I didn't say it was fixed DURING Carter's term in office. We had to vote him out of the WH to get policy in line with what Volcker did. As for 2016-2019, Trump had no anti-inflation policy, his deficits were as bad as Obama's ..... and he favored continuing low interest rates. Keeping interest rates low for Trump is what lit the torch on inflation after Biden moved in.

Find it strange when someone acts like they know why our economy is in the shape it is.. Yet they don’t know enough or how to deal with inflation and recessions but yet they seem to know who to blame.

Then you try to find ways to discredit my very factual statements, as if you disagree with me for agreeing with you. There is very clear evidence who was setting inflationary policy, so blame may be the wrong word. Outright "responsibility" is more accurate. What you may not realize is I'm a retired financial analyst. I'm more than qualified to pin blame if I need to. But bottom line, you and I agree interest rates must go up quite a bit more to reverse this inflation, and I'll add that is true even if it puts us into a 5-year recession. That's the payback everyone gets for the free money policies they feasted on since 2008.

Jerome Powell says he's not political but that's far from the truth. A few years ago he was still printing money, growing the balance sheet while inflation was at 9%. He's definitely going to cut rates prematurely.

It required 15% when Volcker had to raise rates to stop Carter's inflation. It will take at least that again to stop what we have now, to return prices to nearer what they were when Obama initiated "quantitative easing" (zero interest). His low interest mandate to Fed policy ignited this new inflation.
