dutch made around 400,000, big number for their small size country 4:06 fun fact, the reason it is very similar to the German 88 commission rifle is because the Germans COPIED the Mannlicher design when they made their rifle. Steyr took them to court and they settled that Steyer would take the 88 rifle design and keep it and they could sell it to other countries. Worked out for them since the Romanians and Dutch bought them with just a different bullet so Steyer must have made a good profit by selling a rifle they did not design and negating all the RD cost

The literal translation would be 'veilig' for safe, and 'vuren' for fire. On the Hembrug M95 safety however, the safe position is marked with 'rust', which stands for rest.

The impression you get out of you tube (the web in general), is, Hembrug Rifle is a Wall Hanger? Not ONE freakin video or picture can be found of this gun actually being fired down range? Can the gun shoot??????
@TheKoba497 жыл бұрын
the guns can shoot

No, there are some shooting videos of the Dutch Mannlicher on You Tube, but I also have difficulty in finding them again. There are also some videos of Dutch KNIL (colonial army) Mannlichers that were converted to shoot .303 British cartridges. This conversion may have done by the Dutch before WW2 or by the Indonesians after independence (1949).
