Trying to find this specific version now in the TikTok era full of synthwave remixes has become really hard, I remember back in 2009 you just had to type “Duvet remix” and voila, now you have to keep scrolling for minutes trying to evade all those new TikTok remixes in order to find this specific version.

Honestly "Duvet Cyberia Remix" got it for me and that wasn't too obscure. I don't mind synthwave remixes etc. bc it's fans making (or trying to make) good stuff. I'm sick of AI junk whenever I try to look for images of any kind. That's what gets me. Or these AI generated websites that first sound like they have the perfect solution to your tech problem or whatever and then you realize it's just random words after a certain point.

My favorite track! I remember watching this show when I was in middle school and my mom always wanted to be in the room when the opening song played lol. I owned the Cyberia soundtrack and was bummed when it broke into pieces. The plastic case it came in was neon transparent pink.

Ok this is my favorite track in the album. The thing about this anime is that it resonates with me on a frightening level. I felt very similar to lain, in the fact that at the time of watching, we lived in a world where people's minds were constantly wired to one another, and we are all connected. Sharing of thoughts is almost instant, so it felt like it really was in "present day, present time." I was more or less an awkward social outcast with few friends, and it took me a while to get on the internet. When I did, I adapted quickly, made lots of friends (if you could call it that) and built up knowledge in system programming, hardware, art, music, literature, etc. I also had many identities that eventually split into contrasting personalities. I lived in self conflict and there were times when people including my parents gave me a look of disgust and pity. I had a time where I became overly dependent on a nice friend. I also had a time where I sorta lost myself in the internet. Hell, I even draw large spirals in pencil.

@blackeneddove It's also missing the track 12: Duvet TV sized (i.e. op as played in the anime). Just as the OST is missing track 10 "tooi sakebi". That's because it's the international (American?) version. I'm sorry that you ended up with that version. If you want the Japanese edition of the Cyberia mix you can search by google or look for it at 'amazon.com' or 'amazon.co.jp'. It could be hard to find an unused one but I hope you find a good one. I remember watching it my freshman year in high school back in 2001 and it stuck with me and recently rewatched as an adult and now even more completely blown about how complex, unique,well thought out and meaningful this story was, so ahead of its time and can and can even mirror today’s society. Love the ending even though it still makes me sad. Oh yeah Virtual Self (Porter Robinson) pays homage to Lain during his recent sets.
