He may have been denied lordship, but at least he could make choices for himself (even if they were the wrong ones), while her only path in life was always being the wife of some powerful man she probably wouldn't choose.

If I could recall correctly, In the books, Kevan advised Tyrion to confess to the crime so the judges (Tywin, Oberyn, and Mace) could sentence Tyrion with a lesser punishment which was obviously to take the black. Kevan almost always seem like a yes-man to his brother Tywin so yes I would agree with what you said.

I really fell in love with Jamie after his redemption arc. His bond with his brother is one of the best thing in the series. Always sticking out for him. I hope Jamie is alive when eventually J R R Martin finishes his series. I know he's dead in the show but George can keep him alive in the book. I hope in the book he's finally understands that Cersi ruined everything and is the reason for the downfall of her kingdom and her children. I hope Jamie will understands it and runs away from Cersi and she gets what's coming for her.

You can say everything you want about Tywin but he's the kind of person that puts his house interest above it all. Remember, when Tyrion was taken hostage, he started a war, not out of love obviously, but he says you can't take a Lannister as hostage and get away with it, they would look weak. He always hated Tyrion, but I believe that he was saying the truth when he tell Tyrion he never intended to kill him, he would just send him to the Night's Watch.

I like the Aerys-is-Tyrion's-dad theory but I just don't see it matching up, of Tywin even suspected for a second that it was true then he would've immediately sided with Ned/Robert/Arryn when they started the rebellion or at least when they started winning. Tywin's whole deal is family and blood legacy, and he clearly still loved his wife throughout, so if he suspected she "cheated" on him it'd be a very different story, and if he suspected Aerys raped her, then his actions during the rebellion don't make sense.

One thing that I take away from this scene is that Jaime must have despised Joffrey, his own son. Sort of like how Tywin despises Tyrion, just different reasons. Because in Jaimes head there’s still that uncertainty of if Tyrion was the one that actually poisoned Joffrey or not and yet Jaime isn’t conflicted about supporting Tyrion in the matter.
