Do you know what. Fair play to Glen for speaking so honestly about this. For anyone that has ever played darts - a lack of confidence is so difficult whether you’re World Number One or a pub player. Whatever he does now, as long as he’s happy that’s the most important thing.

It is horrible. I can relate as well, obviously not at the level of Duzza. I went from averaging 26/27 at counties for years, to chucking 15 averages in a matter of months. I stuck at it for 6 months, then packed it all in. The embarrassment was torture, it probably never helped when so-called friends were quite happy to mock you, for the downfall. From playing 4 nights a week to none. I know where it went wrong, trying to change my throw, to get to the next level, but instead went backwards big time & it was impossible to try find that old throw again. Then Covid kicked in. These days, i'm back playing having fun, i don't think about my throw, i just do it with a smile on my face smashing in 18 dart legs for fun.

Can remember during his game v mvg at blackpool 2019 he came back after the break and everyone was roaring him on and to see him like this is horrible hope he's back to his best soon

Once you lose the confident, its game over. I was a decent player and like him I got high too fast and I went to a "protect my reputation" status and everything went downhill after that. Now a year and a half later I've hit rock bottom, so signs of recovery so I decided to quit, the game is no fun for me anymore. Good luck Duzza

Mate I can relate to you was good player for ages from age of 7 then gave it up at 10 had a year out and now its catch up I didn't really have confidence now I'm 16 going into county league it's just I lost it confidence now I'm just trying to get back and move on as I was rock bottom

@@anthonym3351 it's all in the mindset anyhow ...some don't want to be vulnerable about it & dust the issue in the sand without allowing the chance to explore the psychosomatic blockages . I improved my quality this year but avoid trying to control any outcome . its just being in the joyful flow that counts .

When he was in n the BDO he still had a job/career to fall back on - he could just relax and enjoy his darts with far less pressure than being on the full time PDC tour playing against top class players week in week out - it got too much and affected him mentally and he never fully recovered. That's my hypothesis anyway. The mind is a complicated tool.

Duzza was absolutely lethal at his peak: he had the eyes of the tiger. Up there with the very best in history during that spell. He may not have been the prettiest to watch, but his accuracy was superb. That Premier League win was awesome. Whatever he turns to now, he will succeed. 👌 👏🏿

Glen don't focus on technique as much if u approach the darr board and feel happy and confident you will throw your best darts I'm only a county player I met you in Bridlington a few years ago you were such a natural thrower impressive and consistent don't complicate your natural talent all the best mate 🎯👍🎯👍🎯👍

Glen - I’m not sure if you’re going to give it another go 100pc ? - as im sure you can start afresh and climb back to the top of the game winning trophy’s too, Or whether you’re going to retire and focus on your new baby the coaching and mentoring ?… But either way you’re on a win win , as you have zero to prove to anyone how world class a player you are, and because you’re such a gentleman, and such a caring down to earth guy you will be such a natural coach and mentor. ❤❤- All the best to you my friend - and always remain so proud of yourself x

Pub players beat him now hes horrendous i remember one of the last times he played on tv he averaged 50 odd haha i was averaging 80-90 in youth darts when i played
