What ever annual pass that you get they offer you a discount on renewing the annual pass. The gold is $699 but to renew its $594. If you get a 5 day pass with park hopper (depending on when you go) and the photo pass you are looking at $695 yes you only need one member of your party to have the photo pass so with out the photo pass you are looking at $525

Although Skier Pete made a good point about moonlight magic being announced further ahead these days, for us in the UK being able arrange a vacation around a moonlight magic event is nigh impossible! I don't see any dates for 2020 yet and so as you can imagine, it's something we will only see others doing. So I just wish that Disney could think of a perk that we all can enjoy relatively easily? Also the dining discounts are better for DVC (especially Lunch around EPCOT) - check it out.

I know Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me

I think some people forget there’s a difference between benefits and promotions. The annual pass discount where you could get platinum for the gold price, that was just a promotion they did for 1 year and it was labeled as that. So I don’t think it was a case of anything being taken away, just the end of the promotion. I’m sure there’s been some others as well.

One year, and it might have been at least 5 years ago, when the passes didn't have black outs, we got the DVC Premium plus, meaning with water parks, for $399. It was awesome! At Disneyland in April, we got a 10% DVC discount nearly everywhere. Even at quick service and carts, which isn't offered at WDW.

I like Skier Pete's point of view because I'm from Canada and some of the benefits really add up! We use the dvc gold ap option and take two trips in the one year period, saving us a huge chunk of money every year. The park hopper and photopass options are fantastic and only add to the savings.

Pete! DCL gives merchandise discounts aboard cruises for DVC members as well, not AP holders though.

Resale lights up purple! We only own resale points, and I light up purple. My husband's didn't last trip because he didn't connect his DVC account to his MDE account. He's looking forward to lighting up purple on our upcoming trip!

It’s hard to get moonlight magic because of the time difference to book. I never new about resales that much until recently and wish I know more about it before I added more points.

A gold annual pass is probably the biggest benefit to non-Florida residents.

The information about RCI is incorrect. There are places you can book in London and Tokyo. It might be an apartment or a house and not a resort but they are there. My in laws have been with RCI for 20 years plus and have been to both of these areas multiple times. London is very tough to get into as there aren’t many places.

The Disneyland perks aren't great. I can get same merch discount with my Disney Visa card. WDW isn't my thing, but if it was, I would totally spend the extra money for 75 direct points
@xWhereswaldo5 жыл бұрын
So is 75pts the minimum direct buy from Disney (original, not add on)? I thought it was 100 but 75 is much better. Then after if you were to buy resale lets say 50pts at a different hotel could you then use your 125 anywhere you want?

I have been a DVC member since 2001 (direct from Disney) and my magic band has never lit up purple. :( Not the reason I bought DVC. Love the benefits.
@happycanadianguy5 жыл бұрын
I just can't justify direct purchase. yes they have moonlight magic etc but if you don't live in Florida then you probably will never be at it. most food discounts you can get on annual pass. its just not worth it. I'm resale and I light purple when scanning into the parks.

Good video. Do you need the blue card to go to the DVC member lounge? Not the biggest perk but that was missed in the discussion. Thanks
@kathyromack3955 жыл бұрын
Eric Pettis I’m pretty sure you need to show that as well as your photo ID to get into the lounge.

When I purchased direct last month, they told me 100 points minimum for the blue card
@janirak.2555 жыл бұрын
Fiasco- it depends on which band you get! 😅 it has nothing to do with our memberships lol (that would be cool though)
@kathyromack3955 жыл бұрын
Janira Ramos not entirely true. Any band will light up purple if you are a DVC member. I don’t know if it is only true for direct DVC buyers or not as we did buy direct from DIsney. We have noticed the first scan per day into any of the parks with any of our magic bands will scan purple then turn green. The other colors or sounds you get with other magic bands are usually due to them being a special magic band. For instance the MVMCP I bought in Dec of 2018 has MICKEY chuckling or making a laughing sound.

75 points still gets you a membership? Right now it's a make or break decision for me. Salesman say 100, but I can afford 75 points.
@krzyktty1015 жыл бұрын
It is 100 now, was updated recently.

I still don’t understand why resale members don’t get perks. Once Disney has sold a contract, that’s it. Whether the original buyer keeps it or sells it through resale, Disney won’t get that direct sale again. If Disney were buying back the majority of contracts, then I’d understand, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. They often decline on first refusal. Odd.
@andrewvesci26125 жыл бұрын
k o Lack of some benefits make sense (like Moonlight Magic) but denied access to the EPCOT lounge is a bit stupid. We spend the same amount per year in fees as anyone else who has 208 pts at OKW, so why do we get nothing
@triedandchew5 жыл бұрын
@@andrewvesci2612 Annual dues do not subsidize any of the perks they are mentioning here, including the lounges. The money for those things comes from the higher prices they sell the direct contracts at. It costs money to operate the lounge, so I understand why they don't allow resale members access to that. But honestly, I found the Epcot lounge to be a bit overrated, not worth the fuss unless you *really* want free soda.
@jenb255 жыл бұрын
Agreed with this comment. Disney makes their profit when they sell contracts. There are lots of owners out there who bought direct in the beginning in the 90s who never sold and still own their contracts. These are not a profit loss because they paid for their memberships and pay annual dues. Anything resold is just gravy. So who cares? It does not cut into their bottom line. Disney set up this 1st class 2nd class system, seems unneeded. If being direct was so great they would not have to be punitive to resale buyers.
@jenb255 жыл бұрын
Here's what they should do, make buying at the new resort the desirable thing. And don't allow resales on it for let's say 3 years. If any come up Disney just buys them all back not allowing anyone a crack at the resort unless they buy direct for the first couple years. So if you want the new resort for your home resort you have to wait or buy an older resort. They will get direct buyers who will not wait.
