Deluxe Studio DVC Room Tour - The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian

I got very lucky and found a Studio in July at 7 months, pretty high points per night, but still cheaper than Paradise Pier when you convert those points to cash. On the negative side, the rooms are very outdated compared to the hotel side. If they refurb the rooms to match the hotel side it will be one of my favorite designs.

I really like the Craftsman theme here, and the nice size table. Those 6 drawers appear the same size as other Disney drawers - 2 adults and 2 teens for 9 days and we didn’t even fill all 6 drawers at CBR. Looking forward to news about DVC sales opening at Villas at DLH.

If you stay at Grand Californian on DVC points, are you allowed to use the hotel’s main pool or is there a separate pool area for the villas?

Well, it’s no Riviera deluxe studio, but it must be a thrill to have snagged GC, where the entire resort is a unicorn. Enjoy DL!

For an older room, it looked pretty good. The table was dirty though. Wouldn't pass the Pete test. But that view....

i noticed only dvc rooms are standard view selection, but you got a theme park view. does that mean there are dvc rooms with dtd views?

There is no choice when you book. It’s all one category. You could either get California Adventure or the pool. If you are on the California Adventure side, you could be overlooking Pixar Pier or the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

Those rooms are super outdated compared to the resort side rooms. Wow. Time for a refurbishment.

The Villas at the Grand Californian DVC are due for a full refurbishment in 2024.

Crazy how some people are talking so much about Grand Cal. Looks more like a Motel 6 than a 5-star resort
