If your caulk isn’t spreadable or malleable, you got the wrong caulk.

@Icharus18 I've rarely ever used silicone caulk, but when working in a haunted house I was trying to use it to repair a tear in a silicone mask. I tried taping the tear together so I could run a bead of silicone over it but the silicone mask refused the tape utterly. I figured any silicone caulk would reject paint for that reason.
