I dig it! I really like how you showed all the different build methods.

Hi Chris, I love all your videos, but the thing about this one I really enjoyed was showing that there are many ways to get to a similar end result. You're a really good teacher man. Kenzo

Kenzo Fry :) Thanks man - appreciate it. I never really think of myself as a teacher, but I'm getting a little more comfortable with it I suppose :)

I agree with kenzo you have a great teaching method, making the difficult seem very achievable.

Great video, enjoyed the reverse dado and overall deconstruction of your build to make a solid constructed media console.

Thanks Jeremy! "Reverse Dado" - Did I say that? If not...I'm going to coin it :)
Great project and I love the step down in the shelves. It really sets the project off well

I like it, Chris! I like how you've done this and continue to do it...adding material to make a dado, rather than removing material.

Thanks Bruce...appreciate it :)

What is the approximate overall length of this piece? I would like to make a similar piece but longer. I am trying to determine if i need to add two legs in the middle for support to keep it from bending.

Bad ass video! What type of big “table” saw is that? Haha my bad i dont know the correct name for it but it looks tight to eventually get!🙏🙏

Beautiful build, I love it! Do you have a rough idea on the total cost and time to make it?

Nice job Chris! I like how you adapted to create a video for beginning woodworkers, but still kept the signature Salomone feel to the video. The inset style looks great, and also creates a piece that you could easily add flush inset drawers too, without any modification to the original shelf structure. Oh yea, and let the effeciency-vs-aesthetic Reddit war begin over using more material than necessary ;) I will just say my piece that this type of joinery with inset boxes looks great. So not only do the double layers make the construction easier for a novice woodworker to tackle, but they serve an aesthetic purpose, that you couldn't achieve with less material.

Thanks Mike - excellent points. And should a Reddit war begin, I will site this comment as a source in defense of the "box in a box" construction method :)

Very cool and an excellent build, Chris. How many sheets of plywood did you end up using?
@dwell7 жыл бұрын
It was lots of leftovers...but I think you could get it out of 2 sheets of the 5x5 x 1/2" baltic birch

@dwell7 жыл бұрын
It's hard to say b/c I was using some partials that I had from other projects, but I'd think you could get it all out of 2 of the 5x5 sheets.
