Honestly I’ve been in the military for over a decade and I don’t even ask for military discounts at places I know that offer them. I honestly don’t like the extra attention from wearing the uniform in public ,I feel like nobody owns me anything I volunteered and choose to stay in the military for as long as I have that’s just me I guess.

There you are, Basic Training, and your feet start to get a little bit tender, so you call over your instructor and let him know. He'll get out the first aid kit straight away for a plaster, and get on the radio to organise a lift back to barracks ASAP, for a bit of a lie-down, while they go get a pair of slippers for you, and make sure everyone knows you're allowed to finish up training in something a bit more comfortable!

Like i told a few other guys: it dont bother me if a kid wears it just casually or for fun, or to try it out, if hes thinking of joining..., or a clearly disabled guy , like a downs syndrome/ obviously developmentally disabled person or such wears it, but older teens and adults who are wearing the full official uniforms, pins medals ect, and they are not, or were not in service, and are running around actively saying they are / were in and asking for veteran and active duty perks and benefits.... oh hell no, not cool ! they need their asses reemed big time, that is a slap in the face to the people who have put the time sacrifices, and work in and EARNED the right to wear that uniform, those ribbons, pins, medals
