or Less ports and less military bases. We need to start consuming more locally if we wanna turn this emission thing around. Like yes some raw materials only exist in some places but do we really need bananas in areas that can't grow them or other products that spoils fast? Spices that lasts for years is a whole different thing but fish, fruit, meat and so on that spoils is draining one area to feed another area... Its not sustainable and we humans need to restrict ourselves at least in numbers to the local areas then if the restriction should be 1000km or 5000km I can't say but 95% should be withing 500km not from the other side of the planet except if its a product with very long spoilage time.

@amadeuz819 The reason why the US economy is so much bigger than the rest of the world is because it has the biggest railroad in the world(China just surpassed it this year). The 2nd largest number of ports in the world(behind China). As well as the most amount of dams and nuclear energy available for producing energy than any other country in history(China is quickly catching up). If you don't understand the importance of advanced infrastructure on how it plays a role in the prosperity and wealth of a nation you will never be able to create a sustainable society in today's world. The faster you can move goods through your nation and into people's hands the more rich you become. Look at Japan, 5 trillion dollar economy because of the Shinkansen high speed rail network that improves vertical integration of logistics in Japan. China surpassed this 8 years ago.
