6’ 1” 165 pounds doesn’t sound like an NBA player. As a Sixers fan, I watched him night after night play with everything he had. He was fearless, driving the lane and taking all those 7 foot big men could give him. He’d softly bank the ball off of the backboard and into the net. Then he’d hit a step back 3. Then he’d break someone’s ankles with a crossover and hit a 10 footer. He was relentless. He wore out defenses. He won 4 scoring titles. He was an 11 time All-Star. He was The NBA MVP. He is in the Hall of Fame. He is, pound for pound, the best ever.

Allen Iverson changed the culture in the NBA. Everybody didn't like his style the do- rags, braids, and tattoos because they thought it was ghetto and thuggish so it didn't fit their narrative of what an NBA player should look like or act like on and off the court. But Allen didn't give a damn and he rocked it anyway. He allowed his game to speak for him. A.I. was a trendsetter and a bad man on the court. He backed up his swag by destroying his opponents and leaving it all on the court. I highly respect Allen Iverson.
