DX Don Onitaijin Review & Comparison | Avataro Sentai DonBrothers

Welcome to my review of the Dai Gattai DX Don Onitaijin. This is the main mecha from the Avataro Sentai DonBrothers series, made of the Robotaro forms of Don Momotaro, Oni Sister, Saru Brother, Kiji Brother, and Inui Brother. It is the first articulated Sentai mecha release. As such I compare it to the Enyaridon standard release as well as Hasbro's articulated Power Rangers Dino Fury Megazord. Is it the best of the bunch?

Nice to have a classic Megazord design where all five Zords combine relatively equally. The black wolf one kinda reminds me of the Dino Charge arm Zords.

I got mine from Amazon Japan with the gear for 9,081 yen before shipping. When converted to usd that equals $69.39 and I’ve heard that a lot of toy stores in Japan actually sold it for a bit less making it around the same price as past mecha like zenkaioh juragaon. In comparison the Dino fury megazord 5 pack is $72.99 on Amazon. Of course if you don’t live in Japan it’s gonna cost quite a bit to ship it but I do find it interesting that dononitaijin is actually a bit cheaper than the Dino fury megazord.

so glad the bird isn't just slapped on the back to form 'wings'. It's not cool, it's lazy and cliche. don't get complaints about the bird's redundancy in the combination. He's the shoulder plates (AND the swords), which are essential to a samurai battle armor. To those saying the robot would function the same without the bird, that's like saying Don Momotaro + 2 legs is already a complete robot. Try removing the shoulder armors from Gaim Kachidoki and see how ridiculous that would look. Tbh, the bird forming the shoulder armors is my favorite part about Don Onitaijin.

I'm a big fan of the classic style mechs where 5 combine into 1 rather than the 3 combine into 1 and have auxiliary mechs or just 1 mech and 4 add ons. With that said im also a fan of the original mmpr colors scheme with green,white,gold or silver being the 6th ranger. I think that's why i liked megaforce

Not really original MMPR colors since Super Sentai had the red, blue, yellow, pink, and black colors since Goggle V, the sixth Super Sentai series. Zyuranger, the series that MMPR team used the suits of, aside from Tommy getting a later season's suit, was the 16th Super Sentai series.

I really love Don Onitaijin and their individual Robotaros but the thing is I don't understand why they can't fill up every single paint detail as Don Onitaijin's individual mechas are bigger than usual individual mechas. Other than that, I feel that Don Onitaijin is worth the money

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I noticed a lot of missing detail that would’ve made the mecha 10x better alone but oh well. Still a nice toy. I want to get one

Imagine going through the long audition process for a famous kids show, finally getting the part of the pink ranger, working hard acting and being excited seeing your part of the mecha, and when you finally see it you’re just sitting on the mecha’s shoulders. Like, he’s a bird, just make him wings.

Nah, yellow is a brick. Pink is decent, but if it’s red like magic dragon then it’s a different story. Besides, it’s about exposure since the actor is in his 30s and part of a male band or something.

The whole mecha looks like muteki kajidoki arms gaim. Ryusoulger blue kiramager blue and more are same accessory. They can operate even if kijino left the team. The actor is even older than kyoryu blue.

Americe bandai are cheap like power rangers samurai and power rangers operation overdrive was cheap they never did the same gimmick and was made with cheap plastic so I stopped buying bandai American and started buying bandai Japan

Not really, Takara, their direct Japanese competitor, has the Shinkalion mech series, and the Tomica mech series. You are vastly overestimating Hasbro's effect. Japanese companies only innovate when another Japanese company does it first.
