How do you desolder?

There are a number of ways to do it. Best is probably to use a desoldering tool and solder wick. You can also just melt the solder and pull each side out, but you have to be very careful that the solder is completely melted until it is out, because you can pull up the trace.

Cool, so if I bought a desolder pump that may do the trick?

@@carlbrashears7421 I’ve put a link to the tool that I generally use at the bottom of this comment. I believe that I just melted the solder with my regular iron and pulled the ends out on this video, but in general a dedicated tool used right is the better way to go. I would caution you against soldering on PCB’s unless you have a decent amount of experience soldering electronics, as it is easy to mess up and create a bigger problem. @@OwlCoveProductions I may just seek out a local Yamaha technician and see what they would charge for this procedure. I have limited experience with soldering and I don’t want to mess up my DX7. Thank you!
