Arms look goofy. They are too skinny from the front. I agree he's too plain. Toon isn't always a good thing. This should be displayed as bots, as they look the best as the team.

Great vid! The piece for Montana goes on the bottom backend in between the exhaust...it helps out tremendously to connect to that hole just below the knee. Also theres a 3D printed part from Graf-X Motion that is fantastic in helping Henry stay connected. Only $7. Can't wait for the comparison vid!!

The extra piece clips on between the blue panels on the bottom of Breakdown. Line it up so it's closer to the end of the car and the peg sticking out. The peg should now line up to insert into the Menasor leg.

Hey Bobby, Great review as always! Breakdowns connector piece is a bit of a pain in the ass, you have to slide it in between the Blue pieces in his car mode, then peg the lower half of his car mode into the Atilla leg, after that plug the gray piece into the upper hole in Atilla's leg. Also, he comes with a Huge Purple blaster for Menasor mode. Best of luck!

I don't know how much of a hot take it may be to say this, but I don't like it. The trailer being the skeleton of the gestalt doesn't seem right. Almost lazy. It doesn't seem like a "combiner". Just some dudes pegged to the outside of a dude. Such a shame considering A) The detail and engineering on each individual bot is pretty damn good, and B) How long its taking for the set to be finished.

Unfortunately, the "dude with cars strapped to him" look is accurate to the cartoon. And cramming the Menasor skeleton within Motormaster's trailer seems to be the solution all of the companies doing a Menasor currently have settled upon.

I have this Attila complete too. And very happy with him. I don't have any issues with Breakdown, because the litle grey part helps a lot. Someone explain how to put it in the firsts posts. The only complain I have about him is concerning cars on legs. I agree with Bobby. Yes in the cartoon cars are on back legs, and DX9 reproduced this scheme. BUT it would have been a great option if the grey parts with cars could rotate to 180°. I bought cars for 80$ each and I don't want to hide them, I want to see them, they are beautiful. Bobby I'm surprised you don't talk about prices. The price for this combiner is low, comparing to Transbots or FT, yes bots are less detailed, yes paint is not the best paint in the world. But, they have a great point to me they transform very well (except legs of Kukinsky / Dead end which are very poor ingeneered). But, for $80 each car and $120 for motormaster and is huuuuuuuuuuuge trailer does it do the job ? I say a big YES. And I'm pretty sure that Reprolabels will sell labels for this set soon, that will increase the good looking of this guy. See you soon for your next review.

The arms look nice and successfully create the illusion that the cars have formed the arms, despite just being plugged into the actual arms. I think the same could have been said for the legs if only the cars could be on the front. Would some kind of modification to the know joint make this possible?

Given that the arm-bots separate horizontally down the middle, I wonder whether they could have engineered the leg bots to separate vertically down the middle such that the front face of the bot mode/car underside could clad the front of Menasor's shins more more visual appeal and the back face/car shells clad the back of his shins for G1 accuracy?... Whilst discussing G1 accuracy, it's a strange decision that the cars are upside-down on the back of the legs, isn't it? Also, your jokes made me laugh out loud several times, this video - thanks & much appreciated! :-)

I don't like the way my combiners display area and have been keeping them as the separate bots. I've got a couple different members of Menasour from Xtb, Fans Toys and one of them. I like the Xtb individually, a couple were cheap and I probably won't be displaying gestalts for a while. I absolutely love Fans toys, but they're too big, expensive and are taking forever. I'll keep what I have from them and probably get the rest of Xtransbots, minus that expensive trailer and accessory pack. Hopefully Fans Toys will finish soon and the combined will blow my mind, and I'll buy a new display system.

I honestly don’t know which one to go with for combined mode, DX9 or X-Transbots. Watched a review for the trailer and it does actually look amazing and I prefer the darker colors. Plus if the upgrade kits shoulder pieces could attach without the arm bots that would be amazing because then then you just need the trailer and upgrade kit to have a menasaur. This menasaur he looks great but I’m not crazy about the plain grey parts, plus you do need to be the two arm bots to make it work.

Not a fan of combiners where the core bot just turns into a brick and jams in the back of the combine mode. How hard is it to make the combination more interesting like having the center bot be the head and part of the chest but still able to have a solid skeleton to hold all 5 bots together.

DX9 scales great with TW and Zeta. XTB is a little smaller, about a head shorter. The 1 comparison I've seen with DX9 VS. XTB puts the top of XTB's head,(not the ears/antenna, but the round top of the head), at DX9's chin. We don't know yet about Fans Toys height.

After the recent X-Transbots shenanigans, I'm considering the DX9 Menasor instead. I want the FansToys one the most but availability is terrible and I'm not sure I want to pay the extra price, even though I do think it's worth it (not that we know how well the final combiner is yet, which is also an issue).

What’s bothering the most on this are below the knees. All that dead space. Wish I could see more of the cars in back. I would have liked with the cars facing up. Breaking up the front of the car so it don’t look so much like a car just sitting there. The thing looks so plain. And half done in combine mode. That trailer and the other bits that are sold separately. Look like the only thing you need to complete the same look. On a scale from 1 to 10. I give this a 4. Bring on Zeta to complete this and Defensor.

Good video as always. Hey not perfect, but...... before one passes judgement or is overly harsh, wait for the other 2 to complete. Some don't like DX9s trailer to Gestalt, I say it gets a 10 for Originality. Yeah it's a tad on the long side, but it is all in one. Some complain that Menasor's legs are too bland, again maybe, but it is 'toon accurate. *Fact Checked it ;p So far DX9 Stunticons for the Price Point & the win. $185 + $99 + $99 + $99 + $99 + $99 = $581 & NO EXTRAs needed. Fans Toys Stunticons : $180 + $130 + $140 + $150 + $____ ( 150 ? ) = $750 + EXTRAS to Complete to Menasor XTransbots Stunticons : $130 + $50 + $60 + $70 + $70 = $380 & + $230 to Complete to Menasor = $610 + $75 for "Extras" = $685 YES! The XTransbots Trailer is expensive, it was a kinda chinz/underhanded move but...... HOWEVER....... Coming in at $610? Can you really be all that upset? It remains to be seen on the Final Combined mode, but still It's technically only $30 more than DX9s complete or $105 extra for the Extras. Both are still going ot be hands down CHEAPER than Fans Toys & will Fans Toys really be X $ that much better? I think some give Fans Toys too much of a pass when it come to what you get for the Price Point in comparison to some of their competition, they tend to treat Fans Toys with Kid Gloves. Or looked at another way, some tend to be overly harsh on Fans Toys competition. Kinda like being the father of 2 kids, A & B, they both make similar mistakes, but B gets chastised, penalized and shunned, while A gets a minor rub of the hair.head & told do better and now get out of here with a smile on their face. I’ve seen the price on these transformers, with the price they are saving money isn’t that hard (unless you have an actual life, in which I’m not at the age to live on my own yet) but in my own opinion (I don’t have this figure but ima judge from what I’ve just watched) it looks great it’s accurate too the show, cuz if you never watched G1 this is sorta how the transformation looks, but I appreciate the bruticus transformer due to each com component having actual combine mode forms plus that the hand added to the combination

The lower legs are to thick and too long, I understand that the cars needed to be in scale with the other MP cars and Menasor with the other combiners but maybe they could have done something about it. If while looking at an image you cover the lower legs of DX9 Attila, the proportions seem fine but with those long fat lower legs they are a bit off. DX9 should've worked something to enable more range while lifting the arms to the side. I like the head sculpt and the hardware seems very good. I know it's smaller but I actually think X-Transbots did a better job on the combiner mode. The proportions without using the extra covers are better and the articulation (not counting the hardware) as more points (they added butterfly joints!!!) and better range. The overall paint, even though not as accurate to the cartoon, is overall better. The X-Transbots eyes are painted while keeping the ability to light up but I like the light gray and purple on DX9's better. I'm not saying that DX9 Menasor is a bad transforming action figure but it could've been better with a couple of tweaks here and there. This is what I can comment just by watching reviews since I never had one in hand, some of it may change after I have a chance to actually mess around with both of them in person. Unfortunately I went with Fans Toys for Menasor so that opportunity isn't very likely. I only watched Devastator in the cartoon so he is the only combiner I feel a connection with and consequently my favorite. The only appreciation I can offer for the rest of the combiners is aesthetic and I much prefer IDW and Studio OX versions of Menasor. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
