Hi Aldo, very interesting and thanks for this..I have the exact same vehicle model with this problem and was also told inner CV's to be replaced. Please post the exact details of spacer to be made to show my mechanic.

Hi there. I made a better spacer out of aluminium. I had a 2mm aluminium plate; and drilled a 31.5mm hole in the centre; then placed it over the outer cv shaft and mark the full outer edge of the outer cv head. I cut it out and made 3 of them to make a 6mm spacer. I used aluminium because it can compress better when you tighten the bolt of the outer cv shaft. It must be the full size of the head. Feel free to contact me if you can't come right.

Tx..will see if my friend has a 6mm aluminium plate maybe as he works with this stuff. If not I will also try the 3 x 2mm rings per side. Tx again.
@ashleywilliams6126 жыл бұрын
Sorry..was the outer edge measurement still 60mm?
@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades84466 жыл бұрын
Ashley Williams in my case my problem was only on the right side. I bought the car and saw the boot was ripped. Without grease the metal starts eating each other. Maybe your problem is also just one side. Hope you come right.

Ashley Williams No... make it the full size of the cv head. Have you mechanic friend trace it out after drilling the 31.5 mm centre hole

@afamokoye813 I cut it from 2mm thick aluminium plate, x 3 of them.

My Crv 05 does the same when I’m driving like 20 or 40 the steering wheel shakes but does randomly when passing on holes on the road or bad roads I think my tires are unbalance when I slowing down I feel like I’m riding a horse 🐎
@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades84465 жыл бұрын
your problem sounds front CV related, Mine shook between 60km/h up to 110km/h and when I went through sharp bends it shook also. Because the inner CV pulls out when you turn the steering wheel. Check first to see if the boots are torn, if not torn put the car in gear crawl in underneath and take a firm grasp on the CV shaft and turn left and right to feel for movement, If both have no movement then the problem is else where. I read online a guy had trouble with his Dual mass flywheel, car shook terribly on pull away and in first gear driving in a parking area! also check your lower control arm bushes and rear diff mounts. Hope it helps. Ps: Jack the car up on all four wheels with wooden blocks and drive it and have someone lay underneath, if the diff jumps the mounts are worn.

Aldo van Zyl - Jack of all trades I’ve check the cv and I lift the car and I try to check for play on the cv and I don’t see it when make turns don’t hear anything I replace two bushing in the lower control arm things I noticed was the part called rear differential damper it’s damage has no rubber at all and on the front to the right side the sway bar link looks bad the rubber it’s ripped and it looks like you have move it with pretty much no effort at all when driving slow does that but for a moment not even 20 seconds I have my friend to stay on the back and he say the rea tire on the bad looks bad I feel when driving slow like I’m riding a horse 🐎 that tire need to replace I found out has a bubble 2 of them so that was on the front ride side I swap to the rear on the right side and since that I’ve hearing a humming noise I don’t know it’s is the rear diff the makes that noise or the tire
@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades84465 жыл бұрын
@@thexflexclan the rear diff is a limited slip diff. It will only make a bad shudder at low speed when turning very sharp left or right. Have you checked the front wheel bearings for play yet?

Aldo van Zyl - Jack of all trades I remember when rotore the tire and since that it makes that humming noise how do I check the wheel. Bearings I remember I jack the car and on grab the tires and try to shake the wheels didn’t find anything just the lower control bushing was damage I replace both of them ? Also I kinda suspicious of the sway bar links on the right side it looks weird like I can move it pretty much with my hands

My 08 CRV will also vibrate, as if I am on a rumple strip (sometimes on US yellow and white lines to prevent drivers unknowingly cross lines). It happens around 20mph and 40 mph. If I press the gas, or break it will usually stop. Sometimes it gets worse and then stops after a hundred feet or so.

I have a Honda CR-V 2012 and vibrates while accelerating over 20 and I have to press the pedal hard to accelerate. You think is the same issue?
@bratprince113 жыл бұрын
Hi Aldo. I noticed in the comments you said your vibration started from 90kph to 110kph. Did this happen all the time? My 2011 has this vibration from 50kph to 70kph...but it only happens occasionally. Sometimes once a week, sometimes once a month. I've recently bought new tires and it stopped for a while, but recently happened again for a few mins only. I'm wondering if this might be the issue.

Hi there. Yes mine did it continuously. Best way is to get underneath your car. Grip the shafts in your hand and rotate them and fell for play of any kind. Also check the rear diff mountings. And from wishbone rubbers. Is yours an Automatic or Manual? Could be a torque converter also
@bratprince113 жыл бұрын
@@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades8446 Thank you. Mine is an automatic. My mechanic (also my buddy) thinks it's probably the rear differential mounts or wishbone rubbers. We'll check it out next time I see him.

Hi Aldo. I have a 2008 CRV 2.4 AT engine and it starts shaking on freeways starting at 75-80 mph. And I have done the wheel roll 3 times and the shaking continues. Will your solution work on my vehicle?
@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades84463 жыл бұрын
Hi there Jorge. You need to get under the car, first check the CV Boots, if they are broken and dry, then that is most certainly your problem. But if they are fine, you need the check your diff rubber mounts. They can also be worn, and lastly torque converter

@@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades8446 Hello again Aldo. Boots are fine. The lady has only 70,000 km and is in incredible condition! But every time I drive on the road above 130 km / h, the progressive "stomping" begins, being greater at higher speeds. It's extremely disgusting ... :( So, searching, I found your publication and it seemed to me that it could be my solution ..
@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades84463 жыл бұрын
@@jorgemarza7168 You see my vibration started at 90km/h and stayed constant until 110k./h. CV has a small amount of play, and the inside of the cup was worn, so the spacers I made pushed the CV deeper into the cup to have a new section to push against. Have you check the wheels for balancing yet? Does the steering shake? Or does the whole car shake? Check the front wishbone rubbers also for movement. And the diff mountings. I jacked my car up with all 4 wheels in the air, and had someone drive it while I laid underneath it. Saw allot of movement on the diff, so reinforced the rubbers also

@@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades8446 Thanks for your attention, in advance. Yes, it has already been balanced 3 times !!. It is good to suspend it without stepping on the ground and observing! Could be the locks of the semi-axle on the transmission that enters speed tend to come off? I have seen some videos that when accelerating it tends to come off, looking like a boy's rope to jump ... just a thought ... I am thinking of putting a small camera pointing to the axes to see how they behave in speed. Thanks again.

Where can I get the spaces?
@aldovanzyl-jackofalltrades84463 жыл бұрын
You will have to make them, from 2mm aluminum plate, 3 of them on top of each other. Aluminum is soft, to form around the back of the outer CV cup against the hub bearing
