Y'know, this philosophy about the sticks actually originated from Native Americans (but they were arrows instead of sticks). And when the founding fathers were making the constitution, they talked to the natives and how they've been able to survive this long. And the natives told them about their arrow philosophy and how they were watched over by eagles. And the founding fathers used the native's philosophy for the country, (USA), they were building. And that's why the USA is represented by an eagle with arrows in it's claw. So if anything, Ame should now more about this philosophy than Britain.
