You can cut budhlia (spelling) to a few inches off the ground so it will be fine. I panicked at how cold it could be so I moved my dahlia pots into the shed and I’ll fleece them. We have so far only hit 1c but it will come 😢😢 last year minus 14c 😢but I’m hoping not as bad this year. It’s crazy caterpillars 🐛 are still around 🤬. Onions are just not happy with the cold so may need to take them home. My garleeks were small too a bit disappointing for something so expensive 🤦♀️. Not a bad tour for a nearly Dec day Jason, stay warm, Ali 🥶☔️🇨🇦

Still no snow for you yet?!? My Brugmansia (2 of them) die back to the ground every year here in Coastal Florida. They grow back strong every year. They are in full bloom right now. Normal for us at 77 F (25 C) today. OOOH! I LOVE your bug houses!! I am going to go back and look for your video on that!! So, am I incorrect or is this generally the best time of year for a new gardener to get an allotment? We don't have allotments here. Just curious.
@Allotment-of-the-DeadАй бұрын
Hi, we had snow for one day last Monday, UK came to a stop, lol. It's not a bad time of year to get an allotment as most of the weeds die back, however, there will be lots of annual weed seeds around all ready for spring. It gives you a blank canvas as well. I'm hoping my Brugmansia come back, we'll see.

Hi Jason, would you recommend a kiwi for putting in a poly tunnel? I’d like one, but am a bit unsure of how vigorously it will grow I’d appreciate any advice on that, many thanks, Pete.
@PetetrenouthАй бұрын
Sorry, put it in the replies rather than a new comment I’m always doing that 🙈
@Allotment-of-the-DeadАй бұрын
@Petetrenouth hi Pete, it can take Kiwi' up to 5 years before they fruit and they can be vigorous, stems like small trees. I need to replant mine into the ground in the Aubergine House, but it's doing OK. For common chinese Kiwi fruit you need a male and a female and access from bees. You can cut it back to keep it under control.
