kyrie is the most hated player in the NBA and it’s extremely weird to me. anything he does gets absolutely blown out of proportion for no reason. I will never in my life understand the immense amount of hate he gets for wanting to be a normal guy outside of basketball. Anytime he talks to the media it gets twisted and goes thru the wringer and comes out on TV as something totally different than what he actually meant. Social media enables everyone to believe they know these players, not just kyrie but all these NBA players on a personal level when they don’t know anything about these guys personal life or mental struggles. NBA fans think that just because these guys get paid so much they should just suck it up and do whatever the fans want. It’s weird, the internet is weird. We are all behind a screen, we don’t know anything about these guys besides what the media says but nobody seems to realize that.
@Edward-ju1vj3 жыл бұрын
Kyrie's fault!
@Anthony015383 жыл бұрын
I think the biggest reason for their collapse are the injuries to Kyrie and Gordon Hayward in 2018. If those injuries never happened, the young guys on the team wouldn’t have had to step up in the 2018 playoffs. This means they wouldn’t have had the confidence or just wouldn’t have been as ball dominant in 2019 (The 2019 Celtic’s biggest problem was the large amount of ball dominant players on the team). This means the Locker room problems wouldn’t have been as prevalent (or wouldn’t have happened at all) because the young guys wouldn’t have had their moment in 2018. This was probably poorly worded, so here you go: The point is, if those 2 injuries don’t happen in 2018, the 2019 Celtics don’t fall apart because of their locker room issues and large amount of ball dominant players, and we have a Celtics dynasty.
@wh3elson3 жыл бұрын
This is true. They basically proved it: “The two “best” players were out and we made it tot he finals, maybe in reality if I was given the chance I’m the best player”. American NBA basketball is inherently selfish, give the ball to your best player most of the time, and when he’s crowded give it to your 2nd. Screen for your 1 and 2 to get them open. It also doesn’t help the biggest contracts and fame goes to those players. So the rookie squad who’s “proved” themselves worthy of the 1/2 are wondering why they’re being pushed back into their former roles even if statistically and factually they are worse

Its a double-edged sword for sure. If Tatum, Brown & Rozier don't step up in 2018 then egos don't implode the team in 2019. The flip side is because those three stepped up it showed what Tatum & Brown can do with more experience and made Rozier's trade value go up. Flipping Rozier for Kemba Walker on paper after Kyrie left SHOULD have made the team just as nasty in 2020 but as well know Kemba's knees weren't up to it.

I may be on my own with this but I always believed that Boston shouldn’t have traded for Kyrie and should’ve upgraded Rozier to start over IT (and have IT run the bench unit), Boston didn’t need a ball dominant scoring PG like Kyrie they needed a guard that can play on AND off ball, can defend and also be the third scoring option behind Tatum and Brown, Rozier was that guy

The disease of more caused this, after the Celtics almost made the Finals without Kyrie and Hayward, the young players wanted more minutes and shots, Hayward didn't fit into the system because he never really played for the Celtics before that 2018-19 season, and Kyrie Hogged the ball to much.

Just read comments and my oh my, how the tables have indeed turned. Twas heartbreaking season after season as i saw the celtics getting so close to going to the finals. The seasons the c's have lost served as lessons and stepping stones for where they are right now. They have done ALOT to make it here and i am a proud fan for staying through the tough years! What a good video. It is funny to think about how many teams in the last 10 years had great upswings and storylines and all their seasons end the same way when they meet some combination of Steph, Lebron, Durrant, Giannis.

Bro it’s on Kyrie. The man did not lead Boston, he is injury prone, trash leader, drama all the time, poor defender etc. who else is there to blame? You so eloquently pointed out the solid picks the Celtics made, solid trades initially, everything was set up for kyrie to succeed yet he could not do it. Let’s call it how it is.
@TheLivewire183 жыл бұрын
Kyrie has proven throughout his career that he NEEDED Lebron. Although immensely talented, without Bron to be the healthy one, the dependable one, the leader, the defensive anchor, the passer, number 1 option, and everything else everywhere Kyrie goes his teams underperform. Kyrie was handed the keys to the kingdom and fumbled it as usual.

You said all that but failed to mention they were on a 17 game win streak with Kylie and was top 10 on both offense and defense. It wasn’t on Kyrie, it was on weak coaching and poor management of rotations.

If we being honest, they had so much bad luck. Hayward was an amazing player that got injured at the very start of that season. To make it even worst it was a nasty injury. I still think Boston shoulda kept Rozier and Horford. Horford was a team player and Rozier could step up in crunch time. Plus they both had great chemistry with Tatum and Brown.
@xdOreoMilk3 жыл бұрын
al horford is back on the team go watch some basketball

Rozier went public with the locker room problems on First Take. I don’t think there was a way to bring him back in to the locker room after that. He went after the bag and no hate towards him he is a baller but he couldn’t come back to the team.

Find it laughable people always refer to that few years a dynasty when the celtics never even won anything. For a dynasty to happen obviously they gotta first win a championship, then go back to back for a few years, not necessarily winning, but just be a constant presence in the finals, neither of which this group of celtics have ever done. They were a dynasty of choking at the ECF were more appropriate
@conorflanagan96052 жыл бұрын
Literally nobody calls them a dynasty and they were NEVER favorites to win in those years. This just Celtics hater porn. Their best seasons are to come
@SO-jp6gh2 жыл бұрын
I think most common-sense people knew it was obvious that he meant the Celtics EMERGING dynasty was ruined, meaning things were promising but it got ruined before it got a chance to come to fruition. Since it seemed obvious, he didn't feel he needed to add so many words to explain it to everyone, but I guess at least 13 people didn't understand the assumption.
