2015 was their best chance. The Warriors were still beatable, they eliminated the champs Spurs, and The Cavs didnt have Love or Kyrie due to injuries. We could say the injuries throughout their era was a big problem, but back then and now i still think, if Doc Rivers just would have done 3 or 4 changes in their system, they would have beaten Houston. But, he didnt make any defensive stops, their system started to collapse and the rest is history. The only change in their system i could retell Doc did was to use Griffin's passing and screens to get Reddick open for three, that change was efective but that was all.

Seems like you skipped the most important reason they didn't win a chip. It's because of their coach Glenn Rivers. That guy is mediocre at best and could only win 1 chip with 4 HOF in their line up. Seeing how the Lob City collapses, the Kawhi + PG combo collapses, and last year how the 76ers collapsed and gave up huge leads... the common denominator here is Glenn Rivers and he should never get another job again. If the Lob City had a legit top 10 coach of the league they would've easily won a chip or two (unfortunately they had a bottom 10).

Doesn't help when half the lineup is on cortisone injections, broken orbital bones, bon spurs etc. Clippers 2013-14 were winning every series they played until CP or Blake got injured along with at least 3-4 role players. The rockets series was the worst of them all. They went up without CP and then Blake tore a MCL, Jamal strained a hamstring that nagged him all season, JJ Redick and Glen Davis had bones spurs in their ankles, Matt Barnes had a torn labrum, Austin Rivers dropped out to the broken Orbital and came back momentarily to lead a comeback. This was one of many cases proving they were not front runners. And the Grizzlies comeback was historic, Spurs (the defending champions) comeback etc. The clippers are the only team to beat two champions in back to back playoffs. They had it all until the injuries and eventually the CP ego got involved in each losing effort.

Lob City Clippers had so many issues with the front office. In my opinion, they made a lot of issues with the new players they took. Literally only Cp3, JJ, Blake, DeAndre, and Jamal can score. There comes a time where only starters played the whole game (not literally whole game). It was just bad. Doc Rivers fucked it up by adding his son and an old Paul Pierce.

Locker room issues aside, I think one of the issues clippers werent living up to expectation is because other than CP3 talent-wise they werent good enough. Blake was supposed to be that 2nd superstar but he was never really that. In a changing nba game he never developed an effective jumpshot, wasnt really good in the post as a PF and had a reputation of being soft. In terms of the other guys in that team the only player that could really create his own shot was Jamaal but he was limited to a bench role. So pretty much Cp3 didnt have enough help which is evident by the fact that when Cp3 joined an actual superstar with Harden, they went toe to toe with the Warriors dynasty.

Clippers fan here since 2006, I've been through a lot of heartbreak with this team and I constantly get clowned for it every season...but something about our current FO with the great Jerry West, has really turned our franchise around. We made the WCF without Kawhi, a feat we have never done before as a franchise..amazing. I'm hopeful for our squad. Especially with Lue at the helm, he's found a gem in T-Mann and most recently we got Norman Powell and Covington for pretty much nothing but an aging bledsoe a rook and a pick in the draft. I like our chances..I'm so used to heartbreak with this team but I feel this may be the turn around. Just needa get PG & Kawhi healthy for next season, this one is to develop and reload. Lob City was great for the franchise, but we used it as a leaping board to what we are now. A respected franchise with players actually wanting to come and play for us, rather than at times the Lakers, that is a great victory to say the least. Also, a new arena in 2025 for us by Mr. Ballmer himself who also now owns the forum haha only way is up my dude! (sorry for the long comment)

According to Stern at that time, the Lakers would be "too good" if they got CP3, even though the Lakers were about to give up Gasol and Odom for him and LeBron formed the Big 3 in Miami a year prior. He pretty much admitted that he didn't want the Lakers to keep winning

The Lakers would have 1 more ring Kobe bryant would of filled the ghost of Jordan etc. But the NBA helped them with Portland and kings so with that trade David and Clivand GM complain like baby is why it did not happen then the organization did not draft the correct players or But the right staff for Koby they wasn't the last year I still think he should have retired in 2013 not taken the extentions at all.

one of the most fun and talented teams ever to never win it all. Like seriously, those 2012-2015 teams were crazy loaded.

This was my favorite team to use on 2k all I’d do was run Pick and roll plays for DJ and Blake and spot up jj for easy 3’s. With a great Floor general like Chris Paul It was easy and I’d do the sickest Ankle breakers with Jamal Crawford

Very sad ending for a very great team. I was rooting for them. Too bad the clippers are staying in LA and not moving to Anaheim or San Diego. At least they are getting a new arena.

That’s not even the problem. They never lost to golden state in the playoffs. They only lost to the spurs once and that was at the very beginning of the lob city era. They were never good enough to even face the spurs/warriors

Being from Southern California and a Lakers fan my whole life it was really funny to see all the Clippers bandwagon fans after jumped on after that 2011 season. Suddenly there were all these people who had all of a sudden been a Clipper "fan" for their entire life it was really silly.
