Reminded me so much of some of the lyrics from Oceans by Jay-Z and Frank Ocean, where they say: "...Because this water tells my story, this water mixed blood..." wanting to explain that buried in the ocean are the stories of so many people who were enslaved and never made it to the coast because they either jump to be free or thrown to preserve ships and things deemed more valuable than them and how also the water brought them to new lands and mixed them with different races, environments and so on. One of the best lines on the MCU for sure.

It shows that they aren’t willing to be pushed down, or to be made to feel like they are worth less than what they actually are, and as someone who knows what that feels like I can identify with at least a part of that, though not on the same level as slaves. So that’s why I found this a powerful and meaningful line.

And even after that, he was treated as a war criminal by goverment, when he was a victim of war in reality
