I would suggest to print those props from ASA. Then 1) proper sanding. 2) aceton vapor smoothing.That will result in very smooth surface with less drag. 3) static and dynamic balancing. When you manage all of these steps, you can get very competitive propeller.

Thankyou for your suggestion sir....i really appreciate your thoughts and will definitely do it in my upcoming videos.... In my upcoming videos...i have already tested a new propeller with 0.1 mm layer height and the results are really good. So thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe so that you don't miss out anything....😊😊😊

I run a 3d printed 120mm EDF in my 7ft L-39. To get "manufacturer's" specs or better, try SLA printing or sanding the blades after fdm printing. Also, for fdm, try carbon-fiber filled filaments like cf-petg. It sands very easily and the results are phenomenal.

You will get better numbers if you print this at a lower layer height. Try 0.08mm. Also the propellers could benefit in strength from being printed with walls turned up so high that there is no room for infill. Similar to how they grow crystaline metal for turbine blades

Thank you for your valuable suggestion....In my upcoming video, I have tested a new propeller with 0.1 mm layer height. Currently they are having good strength, but I will definitely use 0.08 mm for bigger propellers. And I have reduced the height for smooth finish. And I am also thinking to print them with resin printer. Thankyou for watching and don't forget to subscribe 😊😊😊

Things you should do difference as he stated it doesn’t have a smooth surface and that’s why it’s not as good as a purchased one. But what I’ve seen is some guys sand the propellers and add nail polish which makes it as smooth as a store bought one.

@MechNinja I'm curious. How did you attached blades to the shaft. I tried on Tinkercad, but it's not working..I attach one blade to the shaft and than combine them. After I "group" them together I try to rotate the shaft 30 degree to attach the next blade,but the object changes it's center of axis after grouping...

This is a WRONG ❌ method to calculate the thrust Please make a U stand and put it on the weighing scale and then measure perfectly
@MechNinja Жыл бұрын
Yes the weighing scale method will give me a little extra thrust..... But atleast getting a lesser thrust from a test is good for Factor of safety....and also this test rig creates a perfect condition for a drone motor.....rather than a weighing scale.... Hope you get my point sir.... Thankyou for watching the video and don't forget to subscribe 😊☺️☺️😊

Your way of calculating efficiency/performance is totally wrong, you are dividing a "force" (without multiplying by gravity since it is still in grams) by a power. If you want real performance values (not dimensional) you would have to convert the grams into kilos and multiply by gravity and then multiply by the air outlet speed. To skip the first step of going from grams to Newtons, put your dynamometer in Newtons directly. . All the best
@MechNinja Жыл бұрын
Thankyou so much for your suggestion...I will definitely look into it... But I have used the standard formula which is widely used. If you are going to buy any EDF or motor from the market...then you'll.only see thrust to power ratio in specifications. So i have also used it... But in my upcoming videos i'll try to be more specific to the point. Thankyou for watching and don't forget to subscribe 😊😊😊😊
