I hope Suzuka Nakamoto will stay in the genre after BABYMETAL, she has been working with several bands and was quick to make an effort to learn English, so out of the three of them I think she is the one who can carve out a space for herself at the metal scene.

I don't think Yui's guitar was plugged in, she stops playing at random points and there's no audible change in the music. Moa is known to be able to play guitar, and has been learning since the very early days of Babymetal, possibly before that.

Having watched, and re-watched this video NUMEROUS times, I find myself noticing new things the more I come back to it. If you pay close attention at about the halfway mark during Breaking the Law, Rob asks the sound guy to turn him down. Edit: Let me also just say, THAT CROWD SUCKED. I say it any time I recommend the video to people, this crowd SUCKED. They were so unresponsive, it was just terrible. Even during the parts when they're being ENCOURAGED to sing along and get involved, they were SO LIFELESS.

The audience is a awards show group who are there for themselves or their groupies. So they are not there for Babymetal. What stuck me was the power of Suzuka's voice in spite of the lousy sound system. Moa does play guitar and Yui had said she was learning, I believe they were taught a couple of cords for this performance by the band and that is why the guitarist were with them, helping them. There is short clip of a post-performance interview with Halford and Babymetal, it's the one were he names them the "Monster Ladies of Metal", check it out.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 🏍 It's kind of amazing that the first time you heard 'Breaking the Law', it was the BABYMETAL with Rob Halford version. : ) The song is definitely a classic. At this point Yui was a beginning guitar player, but Moa had been learning for several years. In the months leading up to this, her only answer about what she was working on with the guitar was "Secret!". Halford is a class act, and he's always been super nice and supportive of what BABYMETAL are doing. I'm glad that our late, great Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka got to share in this moment.

Key point is “Oh Maninai!” Has Joakim from Sabaton guesting, though it’s quite subtle.
Really, this is one of those rare videos where you can see the real "Suzuka". In Japan music business, the singers and musics almost always "smile". Suzuka smile a lot, also Moa and Yui but sometimes is because.... this is also her work. She must smile, even if she have a bad day, even as an example, Moa falls and got a lot of damage, she smiles and continue to dancing even if the pain was severe (happens at least one time). Like people says "The show must go on" and people are waiting for smiles. Babymetal hace almost every phrase, movement and even facial expressions studied to the millimeter. Is their work and they do it. But sometimes like this and other few times they are a little more free to be themselves and here you have one of those moments. The girls learn metal from the age of 10/11 years from people who known a lot about it, and also at an early age playes side by side with famous bands. Judas Priest for them is something like "the holy grail". You must see a play where they played again Breaking the Law and Painkiller with RHCP drummer Chad Smith, and after this he got a birthday cake for Sukuza. And well, Moa can play guitar, she learn for years, and even taught beginner guitar lesson to others girls in "Sakura Gakuin", but despite the fact that she can play a "simple" song like Breaking the law, she is very far for the level required for the band. They but in the mix the two guitars very low, and a normal one for the kami band. Btw, the small one was Miko Fujioka, the sandly lost in 2018. Oh, and remember... the fox god is real. In Japan there´s foxes at the entrance of the Inari shines as guardian gods, and also in oriental myths there a "monster" called Kitsune es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitsune

I attended the whole streaming before this performance, still wondering how they put it in a festival with a really different kind of music, like to put Marylin Manson in a christian rock festival. Around on youtube i think you can find different camera point of view, and one very funny thing happened after this performance. There was a "prize" to give to another band and they said "how we can get the prize for "better performance" just after we witnessed what happened a couple of minutes ago"

There’s a fantastic video of him doing a rehearsal of Rapid Fire which he can still do really well cause it’s more his mid range. You should check it out, it’s more enjoyable to listen to than this.
