It's very good to see there is still some kids that are raised the correct way in this world. What a very interesting story and business you have there Johnny and for your parents to have made you work for 17 years on the floor and just not handing the company over to you showed in your passion for the business and the successes you and your family has achieved. Amazing company and also still is willing to get his hands dirty speaks highly of his background.

Steve do you think it's possible to refurbish a rusty old starrett rule by way of surface grinding
@SolidRockMachineShopInc3 жыл бұрын
That would depend on how deep the rust is and how deep the markings are.

12:30 in what way are you changing these parts? Are you just chasing the shapes to verify their dimensions? Or you're changing the parts by cutting material away
@SolidRockMachineShopInc3 жыл бұрын
That would be a question for Johnny.
@johnstone6103 жыл бұрын
Hey Bobby! We are actually machining a transmission case from a casting at 12:30 in the video. We are doing a wide variety of face cuts, drilling, boring tapping and turning on the part seen in the 5 axis mill. This is the last machine in a 3 machine process. From there it will go to inspection to verify the dimensions before going to the assembly line!

@@johnstone610 So these parts are being altered to serve a different function than what they served before arriving at your shop? Thanks
