I think workers should start doing dynamic pricing increasing their hourly rates when companies need to meet targets, and as such increase the economic efficiency of the system.

Why not, but the flip side is they would see their wages go South in periods of slow business.

@@jeanlefranc3817 well, unionize and then make up the rules. That's how monopolies and oligopolies work, like those companies do.

There is NOTHING subtle about price gouging by Ticketmaster/Live Nation, uber and Lyft, hotels, Amazon, grocery stores, anywhere. It’s disgusting greed across the board and should be outlawed, period.

Dynamic pricing is legally correct, but morally wrong if the prices increases due to reduce in supply, that is considered as absolute cheating and unfairness. Companies can just tell that they are out of stock.

Not subtle price gouging, it should be illegal

Why should it be illegal to balance supply and demand at all times?

I don't have problem them changing pricing as long as EVERYONE sees the same change at the same time. Where I take issues is, when hotels and airlines do charge different prices to individual users based on cookie tracking.

But the objective is to increase profits, lying about that is just pathetic. Until there is legislation for that, people will need to try to choose a seller that doens't do this or do it less often.

Well, if there isn't much demand for a flight, isn't it better for prices to come down to fill it?

Based on your purchase history, carbon impact, quantity consumed, current demand metrics, location data, and projected income, your updated price for beans is £4.66. We appreciate your continued participation in the system.

@@sampotts9666 that's a good joke ngl, but if the company's goal is profit maximisation your goal as a consumer should be value maximisation. Insurance is already priced this way, but all things must get smarter over time :>

But the seller is a monopolist, oasis only gave license to sell tickets to one firm therefore they can abuse this monopoly power.

Using revenue in the graph misrepresents the difference between revenue and profit. As prices increase with higher demand dynamic pricing allows greater profits

This is so bad and good at the same time. Bad because this is greed, no one in their same mind thinks this will lower prices or allow lower entry price costumer. On the upside, amazing for wall st or analysts to capture real time data on a company. Think about it. There are companies just for market insight investigation. For oil, they use satellite imaging to calculate how full are oil storage tanks around the globe. This would be golden for them.

Tivemos as guerras de bombas ...Os preços não serão pequenas bombas que desgastam a economia e as pessoas a fazer grandes acrobacias?!

I would rather have dynamic pricing on my groceries, because I have the option to shop at different times and benefit from lower price tags, than French non dynamic taxes that only go one way year after year.

Lol. “Price gouging.” My local pizza shop raised their prices. They are “price gouging” me. Shut up and stop complaining about businesses raising prices. If it’s too expensive, don’t buy it. You do you have a choice.
