Re-reviewing this series for no good reason, I discovered that the original story was going to be one of the old gods, but that Ian got kind of embarrassed by the idea, seeing others do it worse, and abandoned it. I also heard he has over 2 hours of filmed footage, but isn't sure he wants to release it. And all i have to say to that is: Ian, you are brilliant, and all brilliant people are plagued by feelings of inadequacy. It's par of what makes brilliant people brilliant. Average people don't have that drive to release perfection and only perfection. It's okay. You're awesome. But, secondly, I would say don't go back on the old God thing. I love your take on it. I want to see where it was going. I know it's been a while. Dynamo Dream was a while ago. But I love it.

@naneek24 жыл бұрын
@@Luka1180 Totally agree with you. I've been quietly obsessing about dynamo since episode 2 came out. Your comments are always on point, let's talk dynamo! I'm curious how my understanding of the plot lines up with yours. I really like that the plot is purposefully left open to interpretation. Your interpretation may be completely different. I'm super excited to check out dynamo dream. But I also hope Ian will also continue this plot line. I need to know what Fender and Kerwin are cooking up to deal with his erratic younger colleague in the super intelligence agency! I need to know what happens to Gage, after that mysterious woody beverage snapped him out of the soporific influence of "the cure!" My current understanding is that the computer construct Gage experiences in his dreams is "the cure." Star is the name of the central computer, which administers the cure to all the citizens of shade in the form of menial mental tasks (ie "duplicate the cube"). This is the only thing that prevents the citizens of shade from becoming zombies, as seen in the dustlands. The human race is in the process of de-evolution, and the administration of shade is barely able to keep this at bay with the cure. (are we not men? we are devo.) The cure seems crude, like it may have mental side effects, and possibly causes early death. It also seems to be how the administration of shade controls / oppresses the population. When Gage drank the mysterious beverage, his consciousness was altered, and it was rejected from the computer construct by Star. He realized he was nothing more than a sock puppet in the machine, and Star "purged him from the system." I'm really excited to see what happens to Gage now. Meanwhile, Axle Rubix is some kind of world-building god. We've seen hints of this from episode one, when we saw Axle Rubix's dream in which he creates an entire world, beginning with the sky. This culminates in episode 5 when it is confirmed that he is some kind of deity. Axle has been banished into human form by his enemies, as a punishment for committing war crimes against the demonic civilians of the shadow state. The only thing I feel like I don't have any grasp on is the countdown, appearing in everyone's dreams, and on computer displays. In conclusion, sorry for my unbridled enthusiasm, but I have about 8 years of pent up excitement about this show haha. Have a good one, Lukas!

Ian's newer series, Dynamo Dream, which you can find on his personal KZbin channel rather than this one, is a soft reboot/parallel series thing, but will likely be where you will see all stories set up in this original series be continued and resolved :) I am still hoping we will see some stuff happening here, too, though. I'd love to see Gage Mann and Axle Rubix running around. Maybe flashback episodes in Dream will do that? Maybe it will incorporate the footage shot of that stuff as those flashbacks. Just a theory of mine. He already completed an episode that was meant to be one for this original series, but released it as a Dream episode, that being Episode 3: A Pete Episode. He changed a bit of the framing device and foreshadowed the episode in the second episode of Dream to make it work better as a Dream episode. However, that foreshadowing was actually also referencing some stuff that was shot for the original series that has yet to be seen, which was kind of like the original framing device of the Pete stuff.... you can see that scene on his Patreon, if you are at the Level 25 Tier. It was shown at the beginning of the pre-screening version of the Pete episode on there, but is not in the final public release, probably because people would be confused about who these characters who we have not seen in Dream yet are. The only character that we saw in the original series who has returned so far is Agent Sterling btw. But Rubix has been MENTIONED! Once, so far.

Only some of the things. It's a story of many character threads that will come together, but not everything has fallen into place yet. Not all of the story is non-linear either apparently, according to the series' official blurb, which reads: "So what is Dynamo? It’s like a sequence of events (but not in that order). It’s like an array of words and representational images. It’s an experiment. It’s a story. It’s a series of shorts. It’s a sci-fi/fantasy/’cute cyberpunk’ webseries. It’s the result of four years of late night discussions between friends. It’s a convoluted puzzle about the nature of reality (and monsters! and horrible romance!) It’s a narrative with layers of interlocking pieces. And it’s pretty wacky!"
