I just beat him in the first encounter last night. It was so fun. The best strat I've found is sea of flames with podao. That art is busted. You can shred through his endurance in 2 openings and assault does massive damage. The first encounter is kinda tricky cause you have to beat him quick before cao cao goes down but I barely managed it after a dozen or so attempts (on hero). This game is awesome btw. Way more fun combat than previous entries.

I haven't played this game yet but usually in DW Lu Bu has 2 fights: one in Hu Lao and one in Xia Pi. The one in Hu Lao is always more difficult since he is optional but in Xia Pi he is the final boss of the stage and he goes easier on you. From the look of it this seems like the Xia Pi version idk if this game still keep the tradition 😅

In the demo Lu Bu would instantly wipe the entire field so there would be only you and and him left. I guess fans found that to be too much since most previous entries have been pretty easy so devs let minions and officers stay for longer

He isn’t fully playable. You get him as a companion that you can play in little bursts far as I can tell. I enjoyed the old games playing as a roster of characters, don’t get me wrong this game looks solid but not what I was after personally.

As good as the old titles were, they're very outdated. Origins remained true with "hack n' slash" aspect and improved it with a better combat, one that is not spammy as previous titles. So yehh, take it or leave it.
