People comparing the HP4 race to the new S1K have no clue what they are talking about...to be a comparable bike you would need to build one with the 2019 engine and tech. When people are holding on to 6HP that pretty pathetic. The HP4 race is in its own division and can't even use it on the street so what's even the point. The new engine is incredible and to see all the power starting around 5K thats just great and unheard of in the 4cyl engine world. We live in a time where bikes are incredible the wars manufactures are having against each other is certainly at our advantage.
@randykawasaki5 жыл бұрын
Wrong. Just because something is a track bike does not necessarily mean it will always be nherently superior to a road bike taken to the track, the 05 GSXR and 98 R1 and mk1 Fireblade blew a few track bikes out of the water when they arrived as stock. As to the reason why so many people are mentioning this, I'll give you one: >£40k. That's a pretty pursuasive point for most people, if not for 44t.
@theant98215 жыл бұрын
@@randykawasaki a comparison to the hp4 race is pointless, however interesting, sure race bikes become obsolete, but people are only taking the engine into consideration, the hp4 race has ha highly tuned 10 year old engine, not bad that in this game it can still do it with the current crop, a relevant comparison would be a similarly set up bike based on the new generation bike, then we'd know how far ahead the new machine is. A hp4 race mk2.
@randykawasaki5 жыл бұрын
@The ANT It isn'ta pointless comparison given the huge gulf in price and the narrow one in performance. BMW chose to punt out the HP4 just months before the RR turned up. That was very a smart marketing decision. Money is the name of the game.
@theant98215 жыл бұрын
@@randykawasaki well the ultimate of the new generation will only be possible when its about to be replaced, when its had years of development in motorsport. Building a new hp4 race would be futile as they could build a far better one with more experience with the design.

I've been saying for a while now that the BMW is going to be the better bike compared to the V4R. I think this proves. And it's not just about hp. But I think this will have more power through the rev range because of the variable valve timing and the cams that shift over. And I'm a guy who has never liked the S1000RR. But I saw this bike and heard about it and the motor and thought this was going to be the better bike, and I think it is. And the way you can adjust everything and the tech is really amazing. I mean, shit. A full exhaust and a tune from someone who knows what they're doing and you have a 215hp fucking monster. That is light and compact and that has a really good power band that has good power all the way through the rev range. I did NOT like the first two generations, but I really want one of these. This and the newest GSXR1K are really good bikes.

With the BMW power upgrade package (exhaust filter and tune from M division) they claim 217 crank hp I'm guessing it will make the 207-210 RWHP on a real dyno. I'm sure tuners will get to 215 RWHP on these bikes before July. Best thing is it starts making this power from 5000 RPM's most bike start around 9K. I think we will see new engines popping up around the world to catch up again to BMW. Love pretty much all bikes but hard not to be completely in love with BMW.
