I’m already stage 2+ 190mm crank from 034, 57mm supercharger pulley from IE, IE intake, ECS HX, p3 v3 gauge , Billet drivetrain and tranny inserts from 034, IE 80mm throttle body, running on 100 octane. Ran into fuel cutting issues. HPFP next. JHM test pipes/catted down pipes, then ported blower, and time to run e40. I love how you dyno everything. This way I can know what I was pushing to the wheels as I was going from stage 1-stage 2+ and forward. Thank you!

That is phenomenal power! Really excited to see that you are already making nearly 400 wheel on pump gas, no less. There you go closer to that 10 second run. You should be trapping right around 119 mph now. To run 10's repeatedly, you will need at least 124 mph traps, which should be easily achievable with E40, DP, 80 mm throttle body and ported blower. Actually with those additional mods you will be trapping around 128 mph. Again, congrats on the awesome results and thanks for the interesting content!

I'd say 119mph is a little on the high side for a Stage 1 - 93 octane tuned car, but we shall see. Thanks for watching!

@@VancityAudi you trapped 116 mph when putting down 360 whp. With 33 additional hp, you will very likely pick up 3 mph in the 1/4. Every little bit helps- HX gave you better IAT-timing-power, intake more power, downpipes a bit more power.

@@spondev super cold weather, super low DA making super good power on a dyno doesn't directly relate to that high a trap speed. If the conditions were identical between those dyno days then I might agree. I think I did 115mph, not 116mph too haha. My guess is I manage like 117mph, maybe 118mph at best. Only time will tell though! I love your optimism!!!

Seems like the overall consensus is that a intake doesn't add much but I think when people make that statement they are referring to a modified OEM airbox 034 back pipe, AFE filter, and a few holes punched in the bottom. Great #s on a STg1 you definitely have a healthy unit.

Slapping on the intake is useless unless you get a revised tune from IE? That is impressive gains but its the sw + intake that made the difference. Would love to see the IE vs 034 vs ETC... intake back to backs....

Certainly more than 22hp with both of those mods. You have to take into consideration the testing of those products was done on separate days and at very, very different power levels. If I tested the air intake gains at a Dual Pulley Throttle Body E40 state of tunel they would have been greater than what you saw in this video.

Don't reflash anything. Simply log your car. That will instantly tell you whether your bypass valve is opening on your pulls or not. If it isn't (like 90% of people), then you're fine

Adam, have you compared such a filter with the oem? I wonder if there will be a big difference, other things being equal. I have an a6c7 with a custom 89mm intake pipe and an rs6 air box. I'm afraid to put a filter of zero resistance, a lot of sand in our area.

@@VancityAudi I meant using a modified inlet pipe with an oem filter, and not with a filter like k & n and so on. on the c7 body (for a6 and a7) it is possible to use a filter box from rs6, but use a stock filter. on rs6 it is enough for 560hp, that is, the performance is enough for any level of improvements 3.0 tfsi

How are you running 93 at high altitude? In colorado we have no 93, so i'm limited to a 91 tune which makes less power.

If all you're looking for is to make the supercharger whine louder, then you'll want to buy an open air intake. Not a closed one, so make sure you don't buy the cover. With a stock tune, you'll gain no power using an air intake. The car will need to be tuned to make more power.

Great gains so far! What do you mean by downpipes exactly? I've only heard that term in regards to a turbo car, right off the hot side of the Turbo. Did you get headers? Or are these like cat deletes after the headers?

Have all your other cars been turbocharged or naturally aspirated? On these cars the cats are built into the headers. The headers then go into the downpipes.

@@VancityAudi a couple NA V8s like a '13 Mustang GT, a majority have been turbo. Supercharged is the only one I haven't owned. But the exhaust on a SC and NA car should be the same for the most part. Calling them downpipes seems like a "branding" decision to me.

@@Plushka199 100% true, just like Chris mentions above... Rotational mass plays a MASSIVE role in going quickly in the 1/4 mile. If you run lighter 18's with lighter tires you will more than likely go faster than on your 19's

8:30 seems about right doesn't really surprise me that you didn't gain anything. Proves the stock airbox is flowing enough air and then some for stock cars. will probably smooth out with some driving. more supporting mods are needed to require more air to come in :)

As I CLEARLY explained in this video, lol. It wasn't right at 8:30. The powerband was f$cked up because my bypass valve was opening so much because I was hitting target boost. The stock airbox flows well I'm sure, but this intake provides much better flow and power.

@@VancityAudi the gains you showed in the latter part of the video were more to do wtih your downpipes and removing restrictions on the exhaust side. VAG does a great job at sizing their intakes and as you CLEARLY explained these intakes are more for sound and cosmetics than power gains until you get more serious about upgrades (stage 2 and higher).

@@One_Guy actually I said the downpipes were more for sound, not the intake. The dip in power was from the bypass valve opening. If that wouldn't have happened the 1st graph would have looked fine and I picked up 16whp from an intake. So like I said the intake flows better and makes more power than the OEM system. Hard to deny actual proof and facts that I am testing and showing you all. To continue to say that the OEM system makes as much power as this intake is just ignorant.

@@VancityAudi I'm going to check and see if there is an updated stg1 tune. I'm same set up minus the heatX. I think you can give at least 4 of those horses to the downpipes. Those mid mufflers were just as restrictive letting air out as the stock intake was letting air in.

IE will be making some more changes off of my logs as I continue to make more power and then the updates will be released. I'm sure the downpipes helped a bit for the final run. They don't have mufflers on them though, haha, they are resonators.

Asking a newbie question: I want to do both the stage 1 tune and exhaust, should I do them both at the same time or, if I do the tune 1st then the exhaust would I have to retune the car?

We're all a newbie at some point so don't worry about it. Once you've tuned your car to Stage 1 you won't ever have to re-tune it to Stage 1 unless you want to change the octane of the tune you run. What happened to me with having to get a revised version of the tune was a very, very, very unlikely occurrence and only happened because of the amazing conditions I live in to make power.

I have an S4 B8 as well. I've gone Malone tuning with CTS 187/57 pulleys, PLM intercooler, MH test pipes, cold air intake, CTS resonator back exhaust and Southbend clutch. Hopefully soon I'll be doing the full exhaust along with a ported, polished SC. I'm from Alberta and if this covid crap ever eff's off, it'd be sweet to head out your way. Is that your in house dyno you're using? How much to do a pull or two on that dyno? I'd like to see what numbers I'd have.

Crazy you only had 93 octane!! In the uk even though fuel is crazy expensive we have standard 95 and then we have Vpower by shell which is 99 and a few other companies with 99 octane but its £1.36 per liter not per gallon like you lucky folks in the Usa 🤘

This is very clearly stated by Integrated Engineering themselves on their website: performancebyie.com/collections/exhaust-systems/products/ie-downpipes-audi-s4-s5-b8 Seeing as my car was utilizing stock pulleys on a Stage 1 93 octane tune 5 wheel horsepower is being generous.
