Sanditon is a fabulous series! The acting, the scenery, the costumes, the story - the last unfinished novel of Jane Austen as Andrew Davies sees it; everything, simply said is beautiful! It does need a Second Season to allow for a Jane Austenesk HEA for our two lovers, Charlotte and Sidney so lets have at it! Oprah Magazine recently (August 24, 2020) put Sanditon as the second best period drama to watch after only The. Spanish Princess putting a lot of super period drama like Poldark, and Downton Abbey among many.others in the shade! So stream this beautiful baby and help get that Season 2 production underway ASAP!

Does anyone know where the exteriors of Tom Parker's country house were filmed? It's a Georgian/Regency house with bay windows on the ground level.

@@nationaltrustcharity Thank you. I meant the country house, not the town house. There were several shots in the series of a lovely Georgian or Regency house with double bay windows, which was a different house to the Georgian House Museum. Do you know where those exteriors were filmed?

@@thejoyofsanditon3486 There are two views of the house in episode one of season two. The first is about 4 minutes into the episode and the second about 8 minutes in. I'm not sure whether it is Tom's house. I assumed it might be.

@@nelsonmcduff5218 ah so this is the rectory where Rev Hankins and his sister live with Georgiana as her 'chaperones". The script supervisor told us it is a private property and so the location of it has not been made public as far as I'm aware. It is very lovely though.

Well, I have a Hons degree in English literature a Masters and have taught English literature for several years. More importantly, I love Jane Austen’s d have spent many happy hours reading her novels. I looked forward to this adaption, but was disappointed and surprised at the liberties it took with Jane Austen’s name. This production was about the director’s own sensibilities and his desire to appear modern. That’s fine , but don’t misrepresent Jane Austen, who was far more subtle, ironic and sophisticated in her story telling.
