I think if the canisters had the direct drive powered v8 carpet head - only wider it would be a whole lot better than this air driven turbo head. But I was also suprised on how well it did on this vid

I would love to see powerhead in this. However Dyson turboheads are the best, because turbine is separate from the dirt path.

I bought this vacuum 18 months ago when it first came out in the UK. It works amazingly well! Pet hair pick up is great as I can also see you were pleased with it too. But infesting it picks up quite a bit of grit and sand too so it must be doing something well. Be interesting to know if this is still a 1300 watt motor in the US as this model is banned in the UK now due to our silly EU wattage laws. So glad I got it when I did. Only thing is typical Dyson with great air flow the bin gets cloudy very quickly but that’s only a minor niggle.

I agree, I have this cylinder (canister) cinetic Dyson too. I loved it until I bought the Dyson Upright and I couldn't go back now. Dyson have their Upright Light Ball model on special offer at the moment on their site in the UK and it is the finest vacuum I have ever used. It practically pushes itself! Can't wait for Kode to try it and review it.

I bought this cleaner a while back and I liked it until I bought and started using the Dyson Upright Light Ball. I don't think I'd want to go back to a canister now. The canisters do feel clumsy compared to the uprights. What do you think Kode?

what you should do clean that whole room only using a Oreck vacuum for 3 months then get a Riccar and see how much more dirt you will pick up and see how filled the bag will get after you cleaned the room with your Oreck

kode1996 I was looking into one of these because Dyson is going all cordless. I've always wanted one. I don't really need the cinetic especially for 200$ more. And it only comes with one or 2 extra tools. Someone said the cinetic actually had less power. But Dyson website shows all the big ball canisters have the same airwatts

I didn’t like not having a premotor filter the keep clean, as I know the cinetic cyclones don’t capture all the dust. I do say I did enjoy the ease of use with this machine, the airflow was phenominal. I am sure the non-cinetic one will be just the same or better. They could have the same power, but I doubt it, since the upright cinetic is less powerful then the non-cinetic.

This one is easier to empty a full bin, it is quieter and very powerful. For short pile carpets it does pretty good. Good on bare floors as well.

jincuteguy Both Sebo and Mile build cylinders vastly superior to this. No loss of suction due to modern bags and far better quality and performance.

Oh no, this vacuum only good on really short pile carpet. The shark navigator lift away zero m is great on pet hair for way cheaper price.

David Sosnak If you get the turbine attachment that Dyson sells for the Big Ball Animal, it works wonders on high carpet and low-pile carpets. The main brushroll works great for low carpets and hard floors though.

Because Dyson is a British Company with British designers...Power heads for cylinders is not something we do here, it makes the machines heavier and clunkier, more expensive too...If you want a carpet cleaner you get an upright, that is what they are designed for.

bionicangel123 they did on the Dyson stow away model canister. It had a much nicer handle than these models. On off switch on the nozzle. And the wand nested in three pieces. It could all stow away on the unit under a cabinet

No way I’d pay $450.00 for that vacuum! No powered head, no edge cleaning, all kinds of static, having to lift up the turbo head to pick up anything other than fine dust and hair, no agitation, no deep cleaning and it only performs on low pile carpets and hard floors. Good to know.

I do not know why you bother with this vacuum. Dyson's canisters do a very poor job on carpets. Look at this Dyson"s rating in Consumer Reports. Personally, I am done with bagless vacuums. A great marketing campaign by Dyson has everyone believing that one looses suction with a bagged vacuum. This is true if you do not change the bag when it is almost full. The cinetic design has turned out not too work as planned. They clog over time just like the other Dysons not to mention have less air flow.
