I just got home with one of these units (North American model) is identical in most ways that would matter. I tried it out on my tile flooring and it works beautifully. It pulls dirt right out of the gaps between tiles. I have 2 dogs that shed badly and have stiff bristly hair that burrows into fabric. This vacuum with its attachments pull he pet hair with minimal passes. Im very impressed and yes it was expensive but worth it. No more fighting to get pet hair out of upholstery. Huge time saver.

just taken delivery of this model after using a Vax , & I love it, its only the 1st use & even the most crappy vacuum is ok on then, so I hope this Dysons reputation is justified, though the crevice tool was missing from my box.. :-( time to call dyson,

I haven't bought any vacuums new since I bought a Miele vacuum, my favorite canister vacuum. I used to dyson until I got more into Miele through research and using my aunts Miele. Since then, my Miele is the main vacuum of the house and it also saves energy too. I only have my dyson ball as I gave the old one to someone two years ago who needed a vacuum. I still use my dyson, but mostly in the basement and car cleaning. If I had to get a new vacuum, it's going to be a Miele canister, but different from what I have now.

The self cleaning bin does remove hairs and debris from the shroud, but closing it means touching the bottom of the bin which could be covered in dust. I will be showing it in detail in the demo.

Is simple to produce low power ones, they just need to take the motor from the v8 (v4) and, put it on the big ball, sense they produce the cord less ones ,they all ready produce those ones , so it's not a problem for Dyson.

Hi Roger! Love your Dyson red/blue socks! 😉 I appreciate your video as I've been very curios about this Dyson Big Ball! I do like my Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Upright, but HATE emptying it as No new "Hygienic" emptying bin on the USA uprights, my Chihuahuas hair gets stuck in the area on yours that is metal. I also have a rather big complaint to Dyson, which I made them aware unfortunately after I'd bought my Cinetic. There is a LOT you cannot vacuum up in the Cinetic Dysons that you CAN in most others. I don't have plaster dust, nor do I use my fireplace so no ash.. BUT I was told by Dyson "do NOT use the Cinetic vacuums to pick up Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda or Baby Powder"! So they don't know people BAKE in their kitchens and sometimes spill?? I use a lot of Baking soda as a safe cleaner or odor remover on furniture. Now I have a Dyson upright I can't use everyday. So with that said, be careful what you use in your bag of filth demo for this one. Good luck and thanks again!

A £450 vacuum cleaner that can't deal with certain dirt is ridiculous. I wouldn't pick up rubble with any vacuum, but flour is something that you'd expect to be able to clean up off your kitchen floor. I will contact Dyson to confirm what shouldn't be picked up with this cleaner before my demo.

The only debris that most vacuum cleaner instructions warn you about is hot ashes or hard and sharp objects. Some say that if you pick up a lot of fine dust, you may need to replace the bag or clean the filters afterwards.

+ibaisaic thanks Roger! Hopefully my US Dyson rep was misinformed when she told me because I couldn't believe it! Crazy plus I have noticed with my Cinetic upright, Every time I empty it.. I tap the center column of the cyclonic center part and TONS of dust comes pouring out. It's the first Dyson purchase I actually regret. ☹️

+ibaisaic I attempted to call Dyson today, after an hour on hold then getting disconnected I emailed them. The claim is a reply within two hours, so I will reply when they answer me. In the US instructions it's vague as they state "no plaster dust, ash or fine materials" frustrating!

+ibaisaic Got my email answered (3 hours later) and I was told 100% the same thing, No powders, flour, baking soda, etc. and here is a direct quote from Dyson... "As for your issue, vacuuming up too much powder type substance can damage the cyclone." And recommend I NO longer vacuum baking soda (used to freshen my couch) and that my Cinetic now has to be serviced or replaced. ☹️

Hey Roger, I had high expectations for this new design and I encouraged my mum to replace her previous Dyson with this one. I have to say we were really disappointed with it, the canister didn't fill evenly which caused the empty flap to pop open, it had a huge high pitch scream from one of its connections and it was clumsy to maneuver. It's the only Dyson cylinder model I've not liked! It's wheels also scratched my parents floors. On initial impressions yes it was great, but it didn't take long for it to disappoint.

Looking forward to the reviews of this and the V6 :) I looked at a V6 at a local store, but the most expensive model had a head for harwood floors, with a velvet-type brush. Have you looked into that?

The V6 video is coming soon as well as a DC35 verses V6 demonstration. There are other models that come with different floorheads including the fluffy and the one with the straight suction floor head. I have no plans to feature any more Dyson cordless cleaners at the moment unless I get supplied one from Dyson or a retailer.

I'm kind of upset that the cleaner head isn't motorized. Motorization really gives me that sense of reliability that it won't slow down as much or stop completely when I clean my deep pile carpets. I'm not saying it doesn't work, I just feel like it doesn't work as well.

Dyson really need to sort out the noise level of their vacuum cleaners especially considering how much they cost. They seem to spend a huge amount on researching cyclone technology, so they need to plough some of that money into producing a cleaner under 60db.

+ibaisaic no the don't fit as suspected. The v8 certainly looks like the same connection type as you are showing in this vid with the cinetic. My old dc25 tools do not fit in the v8. I got the v8 absolute so it comes with just about everything but I like the dusting tool that came with the dc25.

looks like your carpets didn't even need to be vacuumed. didn't see any dirt collecting in the canister. would be curious what it's really like dragging the ball around during an extended whole house, top to bottom cleaning. would be curious if the canister actually stays unclogged after lots of use. not a helpful enough review to finalize my purchase decision. i shall keep looking.

It's not like I wasn't warned. My Dad (a wise 87 year old) said "that's engineered in England, don't touch it. Go German". But no, I wouldn't listen and bought one of the most infuriating products ever "designed". Two big no nos. One, a huge amount of effort has to be put in to get the bottom flap to close after emptying. The plastic catch just won't let go off the teeth unless prized off. Two, suck up anything like a tissue and the tiny aperture inside the cylinder gets blocked. You have to open it to clear it. I'm not talking a big tissue, I mean a piece 4 sq inch tissue will block the opening. Oh yeah, one of the external disc domes on the outside fell off on third use and just refuses to reattach. Now the vacuum strips paint off my door frames. I JUST HATE THIS THING!!!! IT WAS EXPENSIVE!!! Sorry Dad.
