Wild how this thing only has 700w. I've just imported CY23's Asian cousin, the tiny CY29 from Japan. it has a nice 1200w digital motor in it. It also has live lines running thru the hose to use the same motorized heads as the stick vacs instead of only using turbine heads

I bought the first cinetic big ball (1200W) instead of this one (700W). The drop in power was forced by changes in regulations. Its the only reason a second set of models had to be launched, but the cyclonic effect on finer particles doesnt work so well on the 700w cinetic models; needs high velocity, which brought an end to the range. Also had a knock on affect on the turbine brushes as show in this video. Dyson tried to challenge the regulation, but unfortunately lost.

Best thing about this cleaner are the colour scheme and graphics - very cool and understated. I love the articulating hose handle too! Now why doesn't Dyson design a small battery pack to power their turbo nozzle? Methinks that would be something their large engineering department could figure out easily.

Tyler Clark Because electrified hoses and wands are heavy and bulky and prone to electrical connection problems. Canister hoses and wands should be lightweight and easy to connect and disconnect. A rechargeable Dyson power nozzle would be a fantastic addition to their line-up, and would never need electrified wands and hose.

Happy New Year Roger. Thank you for the video. That canister would never be able to clean my carpet. Frankly, I have never been impressed with Dysons. The uprights are better the canister models. The new multi floor 2 kept turning itself off on my carpet. Took it to the Dyson store. The guys there told me that the new multi floor 2 model was having problems. The animal 2 is very good, but hard to push if you have a dense carpet like I do. Many consumers run into problems with the Dysons because as you pointed out you have to clean them after you use them. I think it easier to have a bagged vacuum.

@jamesheggie18544 жыл бұрын
Roger, there isn't alot to like about this design of the Dyson cylinder range. Mum got one to replace her old DC08 and it is terrible, so much to the point that she went and got one of the new Electrolux C9's which are awesome and it completely outclassed this Dyson. Don't know if you found this, but with this range the dust doesn't distribute evenly in the container and mum's one squealed through one of the connection points e.g hose to handle, or handle to wand. It also if much more cumbersome to move. Sorry for the long comment but thought I'd share with you.

@williamkinkade21054 жыл бұрын
I don't think Dyson's discontinuation of the cinetic vacuums is as simple as "they don't actually work." many people out there did not heed by the max fill line on these machines, overfilling them and plugging the shroud, reducing airflow and causing the performance of the cyclones to decline, allowing dust to pass through to the motor. word of the motor failure caused by that spread around, and as such they sold poorly. as to why they haven't included this technology in their cordless vacs, I believe that it would not work as intended due to the handhelds being both variable speed, and much weaker than their corded counterparts.

That looks amazing, but it doesn't work very well at all. It's sad that Dyson is forced to use lower wattage motors and clearly they don't work well enough. Your Vorwerk Tiger canister will run circles around this Dyson. But for collection purposes this Dyson is nice. Greetings from Finland :)

@Deb dyson needs to get rid of that straight suction head - and have the main head POWERED. Just put a couple of power strips down the entire pole and have the same head from the v11 outsize, and you have a powerful powered canister cleaner with a deep cleaning head that can tackle hair and small dirt as well as dust on hardfloors while being cinetic. Its a no-brainer

Happy new year Roger, I get the concept of “filterless” they’d have been better deeming it super low maintenance and in effect have a dirty fan system after the cyclone in the event of dust getting through, the speculation online shows many that have had burnt out motors due to fine dust ingress , great idea but with many “vac abusers in the world” the Cinetic was doomed 🙈

@Flickymcbean8255 жыл бұрын
Calvin Cai no. I bought the previous Cinetic version of this machine with the higher wattage and the tools aren’t compatible with the quick release tools on the cordless range. I complained to Dyson who responded by saying that the tools for their corded models aren’t designed to be used on their cordless models. Weird considering the the DC54 came with some of the same tools as the V6. I ended up with 16 different tools, half of which could be used on my corded Dysons and the other half on my V8. I’ve since sold all of my Dyson corded machines and moved on to Miele.

I haven’t used this cleaner very often to notice a smell. Dirt can build up inside the cyclones of bagless cleaners and can cause the exhaust air to smell, but so can bagged machines. Smell is more noticeable if you have pets. Some vacuum cleaners have charcoal filters that can reduce the smell, but they don’t always work 100%.

Dyson needs to make their canister heads powered. Just introduce power strips down the pole and wand, use the head from the v11 outsize on the canister, and it would be a very well engineered and performong vac. The vac is already well engineered. But the main heads suck - and not in a good way

Dyson have stated that they are not developing mains powered vacuum cleaners anymore, so it’s unlikely that they will add a power head to any of their existing canister models. They did offer power head canisters in the past and I’ve shown quite a few of them on my channel. In Japan however, Dyson still sell compact canister machines with power heads.
