Big thanks for your video. My motor was spinning but stopped when i set the Dyson on the floor. So i disassembled the soft roller completely. I wasn't sure about the head of the motor but you showed it at 3:02 Mine does the same. But now i know how to fix this.

Would you say you don't need to breakdown the entire motor (except for the fun of it. :) Just expanding the pin that holds the gear assembly is all the is needed?

My V6 soft head always rotates for less than a second then stops. I have another motorised head (not the soft one) that works just fine. I’ve removed the motor and it looks ok I guess 🤷, but LOTS of dust inside the motor. I pulled out some with tweezers. When the head is disassembled but connected I see sparks inside the motor when it turns on, and then it immediately stops. Motor rotates easy enough manually. Motor resistance 1.3ohms. Voltage going to the motor appears to cut out when the motor stops. But I don’t really know how to use a multimeter so can’t say for sure. I tried giving the motor 12V directly and it gives off a bit of smoke and seems to keep sparking. I only tried that for a couple of seconds at a time. I guess the motor is fried and needs replacing? Any suggestions?

Yes, it looks like the motor is faulty. Powered at 12V it should work without problems. You will have to replace the motor.

So you have the same problem? Does the spindle spin freely? You can try to hit the shaft with a screwdriver and a hammer. If you are at this stage, it is better to proceed directly to the axle lock, there is no point in dismantling it. I completely disassembled it just to show all the components and to better understand how I can solve the problem. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3zNXmWJpbh_qK8si=SmgPFZnpGnSlhpen&t=629

Excellent video so thank you - the it'll be dog hairs advcice from Dyson utterly useless - but frankly the way the spindle is secured in this motor is crap !! better get srtipping down I guess !

Does it work normally with another brush?

@@techfixPOV desgraciadamente no tengo otros cepillos motorizados. Con las boquillas pequeñas no motorizadas funciona perfectamente,tanto a velocidad normal como en modo turbo.

Does the brush work if it does not have the rotating drum installed?
@agusjarlim Жыл бұрын
@@techfixPOV No, lo he probado al ir desmontandolo y siempre hace lo mismo, funciona medio segundo y se para, también se para durante un instante la aspiradora para volver a funcionar, pero ya el cepillo no se mueve

What vacuum cleaner model do you have? If the brush drum can be turned easily by hand, it is possible that not the brush is the problem. It is possible that the problem is the vacuum cleaner. The electronic board has an overload protection circuit which, in some situations, can malfunction and can generate this behavior that you also notice. Another possibility is that the MOSFET that powers the brush (located on the electronic board of the vacuum cleaner) may no longer work properly and must be replaced. I will upload tomorrow a video about a similar issue (functional brush but not rotating due to a MOSFET malfunction).
