Thank you for NOT starting with a 3/4" board or using a saw to rough out. Too many "beginner" projects start with odd sized blocks or seem to assume that I have a full wood shop complete with a band or scroll saw or such. I don't and I feel frustrated trying to even start those projects. My 1-1/2" DHK worked fine for roughing out this small project. 🙂

Nice and easy little project. I know it's pretty generic, but what type of flower did you mostly base this on?

Mostly a tulip, though a tulip would have no leaves directly beneath the petals.
